Haha, it looks great!
Thanks! Yours too. The black exterior is actually dope in the white case
Yeah, I wanted it to kind of have a "sleeper" vibe.
I really like how it turned out.
Which phantom spirit model do you have? Mine was a hand me down so idk but yours looks nicer
Yours has the same vibe
Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 (non-SE)
Here's a photo with the side panels on
Ahhh ok so it is different. I wonder if it'll fit in mine because the current already barely fits
Love that. So clean.
Your case looks a bit smaller, probably a bit narrower too. It may not fit, but it's worth trying to find more info online.
My case is the Gamemax Meshbox
Yeah I'll look up dimensions. Appreciate you showing me it
$50 case new, probably the cheapest part of my build lol
Ok I'm running an nr200p. Considerably smaller
Yeah but totally gets the job done I'm sure. I've had a great experience with my thermalright
Such great heatsinks
I might switch it over to watercooling tho
But I'm going to upgrade to the RTX 5090 and not sure if I want water flowing around a build with a $2500 GPU in it...
Wouldn't blame ya, 9800x3d is a beefy guy
That's fair, wouldn't blame you on that decision either 😂
Yeah, I've got a 7900x and 3080fe. More of a work rig
Oh yeah?
Yup, I had a cursed thought one night before bed and knew I had to try something stupid
Lemme hear it
You know how Noctua coolers come with offset mounting brackets to place the heatsink more centered above the CCDs?
Oh, yep
$25
Oh man, really?
Never would've thought of that ever
Fits perfectly
Completely replaces the stock hardware
and provides the same offset
-3C
Wow. Work of art how perfect it looks
Super interesting
Will have to take a look into that, what an idea
Yeah, I was gonna post a writeup on reddit
as far as I can tell, nobody else has done this
This mod should work for your cooler too
I doubt it
A quick Reddit post write up might be worth it... If I ever try it out I'll lyk, this is dope.
Happy to help brother
For me, that made a huge diff
Took me from 92C max to 89C
which is the difference between over TJ max and under
Your case?
Your case is mATX, so it won't fit that board (because it's standard ATX size)
My case is a mini itx
Ah yeah, you're right
Def won't fit lol
Or do you mean something else fitting on the mobo?
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Plus the cooler is already almost against the glass haha
I think your build is probably close to maxed out for cooling potential without going AIO
The noctua offset could gain some cooling tho
Maybe switching to PTM7950 for thermal interface
could net you another couple of degrees
Mhm. Right now Im peaking at low 80s on cinebench stress tests, so it may not be worth it at this point
Yeah, that's totally fine really
I'll tell you this though, whenever I buy a new case I will 100% be doing this noctua offset mod thing. I screenshot the steps and I got your username written down, so I'll lyk how it goes
Pog offset
