Hello!
returned my 6700 XT
What is the build agian?
got a 2080 Ti
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, Asus Prime AP201 MicroATX Mini Tower
the fans heatsink and IO had oxidation lol
no cuz Hogwarts Legacy struggles with 8GB VRAM
that's it lmao
had to return it
dude was nice tho he gave me $10 as an apology on top of my refund
My rx 6900xt owner was kind enough to wash the GPU
Ahhh I aee
He repasted the GPU and cleaned it
Also did some benchmarks so yea
The 2080 ti is fine?
draws 300W π
Eh wtf
this thing is a monster
yeah
I learnt the difference between a PWM connector and a ARGB connector
Also all bought from shop or
took me a looooooong time to figure out which cable is which
ur in m'sia right
Yea
I didn't use it lmao
cuz I'd need to pay a tax
I just asked every seller to show me it working on their PCs
Ohhh
yooo
Was worried the pwm and led cables would hit the gpu fan so I cable tied them at the bottom of the case
So far so good
If u opened up the back the cable management is a nightmare
I donβt think I could take it apart even tho I built it myself π
My front panel usb cable vanished somewhere in there
sick, happy for you @hybrid echo hope you enjoy the build!
ty π
is how abt ur build? I rmb u showed a while back u got ur 4070 Super and was still waiting for the CPU
hmmmm
if u opened up that back panel u would change ur mind
I tried my best but yea
we don't do that.
my front panel USB-A connnector vanished
my parts haven't arrived yet but I've purchased everything just want a nice case now
here's the list
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 7600, GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER
also kinda random but I really appreciate you telling me not to scrap my build
it was a stupid idea and I would've definitely regretted the hell out of it
prices shot up after I got my build so thankfully I got some nice deals
yea its a good list for sure so why not just get the rest of the parts lol
I like the Jonsbo D41 https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/qJyH99/jonsbo-d41-mesh-screen-atx-mid-tower-case-d41-mesh-screen-black
not too big like those full towers but also solid
can fit 3 bottom intakes 1 rear exhaust and 3 top exhaust/360mm AIO
honestly I was going for a 5600 and a 6750xt when I started the build so I'm glad I was able to get it up to this on only 200 more
if not idk what else, Montech XR/4000D Airflow/Air 903 Max I guess
lucky
for me the 5600 to 7600 is a $200 premium and I thought for 20% more performance its not worth it
I'll be keeping this till AM6
looks nice but I'm definitely gonna get something with prebuilt fans
4070 super too
yeah honestly
thanks to all the wonderful people in the server I'm now gonna be one happy gamer
Air 903 Max then
just know that the fans are likely DC controlled and not PWM
mhm
unfortunately no websites in my country idk if I've told you but I'm not in germany
I didn't use the included case with my AP201 its sitting in my PSU box rn so yea
just bought from Germany because if I got the parts here it'd cost about 2500β¬
so I can't really buy a good pc case online
oh so u live nearby like Belgium
will go to the bigger city to buy one though
ahh not so much
more like sand and pyramids rather than beautiful greenery
the montech max is one of my picks for sure though
oh
well at least u still save money
yeah
but I see why delivery is taking so long π
mhm
I'm having people get it for me rather than delivery
so I'm paying 10β¬ shipping
hope all my stuff arrives fine
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/fc88TW/montech-xr-atx-mid-tower-case-xr-b XR is also good if u like fishtank look
https://de.pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/bCYQzy,2MwmP6,fc88TW,zysV3C basically one of these ngl all have preinstalled fans only the 4000D one has no LED
Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case vs. Montech AIR 903 MAX ATX Mid Tower Case vs. Montech XR ATX Mid Tower Case vs. Lian Li Lancool 207 ATX Mid Tower Case
I'll see what to buy when I get my parts sometime next week or two
4000D has pre installed fans?
funny how the XR is the cheapest
ehh should be 120
that kinda sucks then won't lie
gotta have 3 front fans for sure
honestly I don't know what aesthetic to go for
lian LI uni fans with that small fishtank they have is so damn nice
but so damn expensive
so I think either montech 903 max type of look or fractal design focus look
I haven't got any RGB except my GPU so it doesn't matter what case I get really
nahh those are so overpriced
definitely
can't help u there that's all up to u
gotcha
I mean a non rgb rig also looks good
I don't know if the little RGB Zotac logo is enough for me to buy a bunch of RGB fans tbh
so maybe just turn it off and get a black case
spooky
definitely works tbh
I'll probably get a case without a side panel or a mesh side panel for cooling
maybe a little RGB on the front
I just have it on because previously the used PC I bought didn't have the case fan 3-pin LED connected to the mobo
So I use it now cuz I can actually control it instead of being forced to let it cycle
I feel you
RGB looks dumb unless it's custom
rainbow PC is pretty ugly to me tbh
I'd rather one color
btw mesh or glass doesn't matter much
unless u have 0 case fans of course
like for me I have 5 case fans
I can use a glass panel tomorrow and my temps will be at worst case scenario like 1 degree hotter
also mesh makes the fan noise more audible than glass cuz... mesh
so ya just take note
sure but that'd introduce dust
so its a trade off
cleaning it and having to worry about the break ability is too much
theres always a trade off in pc building lmao
I mean like no glass or mesh just the metal plastic thingy
like this
wait is that a mesh
wait no it isn't
can't tell ngl
but if u want that front and rear and the whole top should be ventilated well at least
would look good for a minimalist pc
exhaust on the top actually makes it worse
3 front one back works best
montech has a little simulated airflow demo on their website for the 903max if you want something to look at
oh what
I mean like 3 front 1 rear and 2 top exhaust would be good, neutral air pressure is fine
maybe not neutral if ur front fans have a dust filter
so a bit negative
honestly an AIO would work well with this I believe
AIO on the top I mean
I don't know honestly
yea but for a 7600 that arctic freezer will be more than enough
my 5600 with the se 214 xt never goes above 65 degrees
just know that 3 front 1 rear works best for cheapest
yea u could achieve that with the 903 max right now
no need to buy any case fans
yeah definitely
AIO is all aesthetic
maybe in the future if I case swap or buy RGB parts
could definitely sell my parts for more than what I bought them for since of my country and just buy new better parts from germany
I'd rather just stick with it normally though tbh
no RGB parts
honestly all I wanted RGB for was to flex on my console friends who heep calling me "broke for not buying a ps5"
u can always turn it off π€·ββοΈ
yup
do you know how to turn off my gpu RGB btw?
I believe Aura sync but idk
took me 2 hours to help my friend customize his Mobo rgb
I use OpenRGB
I see
but my GPU happens to be supported
Aura sync takes so long to download on his build
I think going from 8gbs ddr3 (ps4) to 32gbs ddr5 will be pretty massive
I stay away from motherboard software like the plague
I prefer third party softwares in this case
I see
I just searched up how to change rog strix mobo rgb and it was 1- Aura sync 2-open RGB
yep I just prefer OpenRGB
I have not seen 1 motherboard manufacturer being praised for their software before
ayy its 2025
OpenRGB is an all in one isn't it
awesome!
happy new years @hybrid echo
you're 6 hours ahead π
yeah lmao timezone things
yep
definitely gonna download that if I get RGB fans
https://zenless-zone-zero.fandom.com/wiki/Hoshimi_Miyabi straight from a gacha game lmao
she's cool
katana = cool
zenless zone zero looks pretty nice ngl
graphically I mean
not realistic but the aesthetic is cool
oh ye just a heads up abt this
the fans wont change to ur preferred color on boot
only after u get into windows then it'll actually change to ur preferred color
how does it run on your build?
I see
kinda annoying but that's fine
130+ fps with your build max settings on a new game is really good
only 74% gpu usage not sure why
I rmb it going up to 180fps at 99%
doesn't matter I play with vsync on cuz I don't like tearing
I still don't know what vsync is
or tearing
honestly I think the thing I'm excited about the most is running vr on my pc
basically alligns the gpu frame rate with your monitor
introduces input lag but this is singleplayer so idc lol
ahhh
(with mods)
high settings too
turning it to low on 4k seems to give 30 fps
I would play but I have no space to move around with vr lol
I need one of those treadmill thingies that lets u stay in 1 spot and run around
but its too expensive Im broke
if you have self control it's easy
I'm really used to my room so I know where my walls are
haven't hit anything in over a year
those are also shooter based
quick swings and dodges aren't great
you can buy a quest 2 for about 150-200 used so its not a bad pick
though used vr is nasty because of the head strap sweat
ohh
I just want to try vr horror
I just read how immersive it gets so I wanna try it out
you'd have to change the face plate panel thing and the headstrap
won't lie
I'm the type to always fight shit
so getting jumpscared and having the thing glued to my eyes feels pretty un immersive
feels like having a facehugger on you
but instead it's a possessed doll that's screeching
oh yeah and its like 5kg
head strap for about 30-60 bucks for a premium one
really comfortable and immersive
keeps the screen In front of you instead of it going all over the place when you turn
I wouldn't buy used vr tho
maybe just a quest3-s for 300
quest 3 if you want lightweight and good cameras
actually helps alot in building neck strength
honestly I'm gonna buy a better monitor before anything vr
right now I'm on 1080p 75Hz TN
will get 1440p 240Hz IPS/OLED if I can afford it next year June alongside a proper 2.4GHz keyboard
lots of neck strain of you're not used to it though
yeah that's a smart pick
vr is pretty costly
hope you get lucky and snag an OLED monitor for cheap
yep I'm going used for it
just be careful
my entire PC is made of used parts lol
I spent 1 day buying every part
and 1 day before that buying the CPU cooler and case cuz I can't carry the case + gpu + everything else home
I just ask people to let me see a stress test pic with the current date in the pic
smart
in case they send one taken 6 months ago
could easily break in that time
funny I actually bought the freezer 36 before my 7600
yea me too lol
got my se 214 xt before the 5600
I forgot to check if the standoff was for amd or intel and realised when I started the build
luckily it was amd cuz the seller didn't give me the whole package
lucky it was AMD
I got 20 off the freezer 36 so no regrets here
definitely worth it over the stock cooler
people here said its more than enough and well
I don't think averaging 90C under load is more than enough
ohh
idk how some people hide it completely tho ig its cuz they have a wall directly at the rear of the PC
but I'm just happy my cables are long enough to route under my desk and back up
stock coolers are only for super budget builds like a 5600/6600
if ur going am5 101% go for an aftermarket cooler
imo at least
and your opinion is correct
running a CPU that hot is begging for problems
I must be the luckiest person alive
I bought my gpu at msrp for 600β¬ now it's selling for 750
4070 super
Happy new year lol
Am spending the new year gaming
