hey its nice pc but id replace that psu ASAP
its 12v rail is actually only even rated for like 520 watts
its extremely low quality
You’re absolutely right, and I’ll make sure to replace the PSU soon. Based on the specs, the +12V rail provides 45A, which means:
45A × 12V = 540W on the +12V rail.
So, even though it’s marketed as a "650W" PSU, it can only deliver a maximum of 540W to critical components like the CPU and GPU. The remaining 110W is distributed across the other rails (+3.3V, +5V, etc.), which are used for less demanding tasks. Thanks for pointing this out better safe than sorry!
@robust cedar
Do you recommend any specific PSU for my setup? I did the power calculations, and my configuration uses:
RTX 4060 Ti 8GB: ~160W (average gaming power draw).
Ryzen 7 5700X: ~65W (TDP, typical usage).
32GB RAM: ~10W (2 modules, 5W each).
Motherboard and peripherals: ~50W.
Storage (HDD/SSD): ~5-10W (depending on the number of drives).
Total estimated: ~290-300W under typical gaming load and ~350W at peak usage.
My current PSU can deliver up to 540W on the +12V rail, which technically leaves a margin of ~190-240W. However, I’d prefer a high-quality PSU that can reliably handle my system
Hey
Provably something like the msi a650bn or Thermaltake GF3 750 will di just fine I'd personally go for the 750 watt one for future upgrade headroom
