the longer the cable becomes, the more resistance becomes the issue, and typically extension kits dont account for cable resistance at all compared to the normal cables that go directly into the psu from reputable sites like cablemod.
custom cables are fine since theyre specifically designed to be plugged directly into the psu and replace the stock ones
