Nice build, switching to a Jonsbo D41 Mesh Screen soon. Any tips for building in the case? ( since it seemed you are using a Jonsbo D41 here aswell )
Sure
Cable management is gonna be pretty difficult
Back of the case has like no room
Try to install the screen before you start the build, it's not hard but I misread the instructions (they're a bit confusing lol) and just cable manage those first
AIO if you're using one is gonna be a tight fit
You can't take the top completely off, at least not from what I saw
So you need to put the rad on side in then at an angle to get it to fit
So the rad needs to go in before the pump
If you have HDDs I would personally ditch them for this build
Sata ssds would be okay but big NVME ssds are your friend here
Definitely try to make sure everything is working and boots before you put anything in the case (always true but doubly so in a smaller case like this)
You're dealing with millimeters a lot of the time with clearance (my PSU is literally less than an inch away from my bottom fan/top rad fan in both sides) so just make sure what you're getting will fit before you buy
If you have any other questions that should be it, all I really struggled with
I'm gonna be transplanting a fully working build into this case, currently using a 360 AIO but gonna be switching to custom loop with 2x 360mm rads in there. would you suggest custom length PSU cables? wanted to get different cables anyway but not sure wether I'll be doing it with extensions are just straight up PSU cable replacements.
not gonna be using any HDD or Sata SSD's. I really apreciate the tip about first doing screen, haven't seen that anywhere yet.
For now there is gonna be a 7900xtx Nitro+ on a vertical mount in the case with 6x D30 120 reverse + 2x P12 Max's, togheter with a 360AIO I have from current build and a B650M PG Riptide ( Micro-ATX ) Mobo. currently use a NZXT C850, any tips for working the the PSU? I'm guessing first cable route every cable in the build before I start adding in components?
the 2x 360 custom loop would not be done RN, it will probably be done in about 2-3 months after I have moved the internals from my Zalman P30 to the Jonsbo D41
I don't even know if you could fit dual 360 aios
I guess it might be possible but I'd be a tight fit
not AIO, custom loop
I haven't seen too many vert mounts just due to air flow
So will it be a chimney style build then?
already planned it out, biggest part is gonna be finding a decent spot for the pump/reservoir with the loop
Because you won't be able to put in a front intake fan with 2
You could put in the back ig
my bad, with vertical I mean like this
Where the rear fan would go
No I know what vert GPU means
I'm just saying
With what you're implying with the water cooling
There would be no fans at all, correct?
yeah I was thinking if I have enough room I'd go under PSU and squeeze the cables, but if not then I'll probably mount either back fan space or added on the PSU cage
3x D30-120 top, 3x D30-120 bottom, 1x P12 Max back, 1x P12 Max front
or you mean for the GPU?
You're not fitting either of those fans front or back
how come?
Maybe the back? If you found somewhere to fit the pump
The PSU
Goes in the front
In-between the top rad and the bottom rad
There's no room for anything else
with M-ATX board the PSU sits there, is that already so low you can't fit a fan?
Hmhm
damnnn, alright
eh the reverse D30's should create positive pressure in the case so atleast it's not gonna be sucking in dust
You either do a 2 fan rad, and an intake fan
And a top 3 fan rad
I did intakes, as well as my PSU intaking
the D30's reverse will be the intake ( 3x top, 3x bottom ) so intake enough, the front/back is just for better exhaust of the hot air
And my rad just exhaust
So kinda chimney
With the water cooling you should be fine though?
I'm not to sure
Yeah you should be good
with watercooling almost all heat will just come from the rads, so no need to worry about feeding GPU enough air
You're doing the d30 not the d41?
Ah I gotcha
I'm not super versed with custom water cooling setups
But that should be sweet after your done with it
fair, it's a clusterfuck for a newcomer like me aswell xD
You're gonna be playing with mms though
yeah, planning on using black soft tubing and putting all the 'Focus' on the actual components
It looks to be a good bit smaller than what you're using now
Why not just get an aio though?
if it keeps me busy, so far every time I tinker with PC I'm done so damn quickly my hands will still be itching to modify it
Custom water cooling is awesome
But usually a bit better for something like a h6 flow
I understand that😂
water cooling is done for 2 things for me: looks hella nice
and it will be the most effective way to make a PC be as quiet as possible
thinking of getting a 7800x3D aswell but so far haven't gonna any good deals
the 7900xtx normally costs towards 1200 euro for me, managed to get a factory sealed unopened one for 800
BTW, any tips for displaying on the screen? thinking of putting a gauge for GPU, CPU and water temps on there. don't really know if there is any good software for that though ^^'
Sadly amds cards didn't perform well with what I was going to do with it
Otherwise it would've been all AMD
It's literally just a monitor
that's fair, I know I pretty much just game on my PC and sometimes a little bit of work but I can't call that anything CPU heavy in the slightest. for me AMD was just the best option
I use mine for Spotify, discord, steam VR overlay, temps, or whatever I feel like at the time
It's pretty easy to setup
Get you wallpaper engine it's like 5 bucks on steam
any suggestion for software to use for temps? or you just using some default software?
not sure, I don't think I'll be using it much. I've got a good 4K wallpaper and the Jonsbo is pretty much gonna be displaying only temps etc. as I prefer to be able to monitor the water temps 24/7 when the PC is on and water cooled
have looked at it, it's good for pure info. I'd prefer something a little more aesthetically pleasing though ^^'
yeah fair, was hoping you'd maybe know something. already apreciate all the tips you gave me for the case though! :P
BTW, total case space will be a bit smaller. but actual chamber space to work with? huge upgrade from current case
it's not bad, it's just big and doesn't allow you to actually do a lot of modifications without modifying the case and losing warranty
I mean I couldn't even have a sidemounted 240 rad on the P30 even though it fits 2x 120 fans and I know there is enough space to actually do it
It's pretty efficient that way
It's basically a big box
Like there's no cut off no nothing
So it's not too bad
I'd love to see the build once you're done just hmu
with the Jonsbo there is a shit ton of customizability with just the panels at the front and custom height PSU, then ontop it allows you to fit all sorts of components everywhere
sure, I'll be posting it in this #build-showcase I'll make sure to ping you
( will be posting 2x, once with just components transplanted, once with custom loop but that will be a few months out still. let me know if you want ping for both times or only for one of them )
the Jonsbo should arrive today, D30's tomorrow or day after, P12 max's tomorrow
so looking at work schedule I should be able to make the normal one after these shifts... gonna guess will be done in 1 day so about friday/saturday the first pic will be posted
I've got to go now, but I really apreciate your input on things to look out for with the Jonsbo. I'll cya around mate
