@oblique sonnet This is very important and may lead to melted power supply port. Are you powering your GPU with a single 8 pin x2 cable? If so, it is not OK because the wires cannot withstand the current of the GPU required and may burn your card due to heating on the wires. Please use 2 separate cables to power your GPU

I would advice you to use 2 separate 8pin pcie cables to power your gpu

Are u sure? One of the 8pin connector is an extension of the other?

#

Seems like they go together

I personally had better power supply port temp results when I use 3 separate cables on my 3090 than one 8pin and one dual-8pin cables

#

if your power supply gives you 2 8pin to 8pin cables, use them

It’s modular and I think both pcie cables have 2 connectors

#

Each cable has a 6+2 along with an extension that also has 6+2

oh, in that case, if you are not plugging anything else into your motherboard (e.g. a second gpu) i would suggest to use only 1 connecter from each cable

#

i understand that it will make it not look as nice with the hanging connectors

#

That’s only 8 out of the 16 given pins tho?

The pcie connectors on the left are apart of one wire, it branches into 2 6+2 connectors

Nah bro i also use that w my 3070 im ok as hell

halcyon ember
#

maybe

#

you might get away with that if your card draws less than 150w

#

since you are running 2x 8pin on a single 8-wire cable
