So what are we looking at here lol
What exactly is this build? Never seen anything like it!
It’s a Lenovo ideacentre 510a that was purchased five or so years ago, back when I didn’t have much interest in computers. Recently though I’ve been interested in pcs, so it’s gone through a few changes including the cpu, gpu, ram, and storage. The factory psu uses lenovo’s proprietary cables, so to power the gpu I’m using a spare psu which has some of its connections soldered to the factory one so that they work together. Recently, I also ducted the cpu fan so it can grab fresh air from the side of the case instead of just recycling the same hot air
since I’m unbelievably cheap the psu and cpu are salvaged from scrap computers
other basic specs:
- i3 9100
- gtx 1660 super
- 32gb ddr4 ram
so... it's a normal PC? what's with all the ketchup and mustard cabling which look like PSU cables?
they are indeed psu cables
one psu powers the gpu, the other one goes through a hole sawed into the io sheild to power everything else
they don't fit in the case so they're just chilling behind it
here’s a photo from a while ago which shows it better
really i would have liked to just build a new pc but im not made of money so im just going to push this one to its limit
