RAM goes in slots 2 and 4. Not 1 and 2.

radiant locust
#

Whaaaaat

#

Since when

#

And why

#

It's my first build idk much of what I'm doing

#

My current pc has a mini itx board so there's only 2 slots

#

Is that better

carmine pollen
#

Since forever. Now you have dual channel operation. Before you were only using one channel.

radiant locust
#

Sick thank you

carmine pollen
#

Mini ITX boards only have one slot per channel, so it was dual channel automatically. Four slot boards have two slots per channel. 1 and 2 are channel A. 3 and 4 are channel B.

I see

#

Are my aio pipes in a bad position or does it not matter

carmine pollen
#

looks good 👍

#

good looking build otherwise too, white/black builds are nice.

radiant locust
#

Thanks man

That is an O11 Dynamic? I have that same card but in an O11 Dynamic Evo. Just be careful because the glass is not going to fit with that card unless you severely bend the cable or use a modded cable. I was not going to do a wire bend or use any CableMod products so I vertically mounted mine

radiant locust
#

I didn't think about that

#

Damn it

radiant locust
#

I'm getting the power adapter thingy from corsair so maybe I'll be fine (I hope)

#

I might have to put the psu on the top just to be safe

dry relic
#

Yeah that one could work as it's flexible. I recommend running the cable down as if u run it up, you can risk the cable becoming unclipped and you dont want your plug to be loose at all

#

If you run it down the clip will stay in

radiant locust
#

Alright I'll definitely try to run it down

#

It's a really close fit though icl

#

Probably should've vertical mounted

dry relic
#

If anything just get the vertical mount if it wont fit. I used one and my temps are perfectly fine and mounting bottom fans intake helps keep the gpu cool while also letting air pass through the sides of the gpu. Mounted hotizontal its practically blocking all that airflow

radiant locust
#

I would be able to see the leds on the fans of the gpu

dry relic
#

Yeha exactly

#

Id just get vertical mount tbh its safer with this setup

carmine pollen
#

The thermalgrizzly adapter is nice. But its also like 50bucks lol.

radiant locust
#

I'll take a look

carmine pollen
#

they have a pcie to 12vhpwr and a 12vhwpr to 12vhpwr iirc

radiant locust
#

Interesting

#

How's airflow

#

With the gpu being mounted normally

carmine pollen
#

wdym

radiant locust
#

Because I'm having 3x120mm fans on the bottom of the case

#

And the gpu fans will be facing towards them

#

Will the gpu just eat all the air or what

radiant locust
#

And 1x120mm on here

dry relic
#

It should be fine, but that card is basically against the glass so the two fans under it will be blocked. It will go thru the gpu but then that air has to come out too which would be against the glass. Id say vertical might be safer in this specific situation

radiant locust
#

Understandable

dry relic
#

The air goes out the sides and since its against the glass it could be restrictive in a way

radiant locust
#

What vert mount would you recommend for this 4080S

dry relic
#

Vertical it will allow the air to go thru the card and also the sides

#

CableMod Adjustable GPU Support Brace (27 to 50mm, Black) https://a.co/d/1mLTwWO

#

Get both of these

#

The Lian Li cases can be flimsy at the back so a card that heavy can cause the vertical bracket to sag. Use the cable mod support brace to hold it up. Works great for me so you arent letting the gpu sag on that bracket. Tho there isnt really risk of not having the extra support from the brace, i dont like the idea of having all that weight on one side of the pcie slot

#

Heres how mine is propped

radiant locust
#

I seee thank you very much

dry relic
#

And gives way more room for airflow

#

No problem

#

One more thing @radiant locust I recommend when you get the mount to move the pcie port to the second position because the pcie cables will put pressure on the card since its so close to the mobo, you dont want these strimmers to bend hard so putting it in second slot is best option

radiant locust
#

I will do that thank you very much

radiant locust
dry relic
#

Ah I dont unfortunately. Am from the US but should be on amazon. If not just look up Lian Li O11 Vertical Mount Bracket

radiant locust
#

Alright thank you

radiant locust
#

@dry relic What are you idle and load gpu temps?

dry relic
#

30-38*C gpu and the same for cpu

#

14900k and Aorus Master 4099

#

Full graphics settings in GTA 5 at 2k about 55C cpu and 60C gpu

#

Havent tested much other games but sometimes the temps are even lower in gta judt depends where I am in the map

radiant locust
#

Sick thank you

dry relic
#

Benchmark I did uncapped fps to 180 maxed settings and recording too

#

Unfortunately gta engine hates going above 165fps so there is a severe stutter when at the black car but thats judt the game not pc

#

Capped at 144fps no issues with fps drops
