burh what? he clearly said he is putting the room together, this is a mock up of what the room will/can look like but without any creative ideas.
OP is asking for creative ideas on what to add to the room once it is complete.
My thoughts.
Get rid of the book shelf, MAYBE if you can get a longer desk, I know you said you already have it but maybe you can return it and get a longer one.
Maybe get something like a butcher block that has a darker stain on it to contrast the room. if you can't do that and have to use the book shelf than I would try underglow on the shelfs on the wall.
I would center the monitor, not sure if you want it off to the side or not.
