Boot the system and find out what the exact cpu is under system info as cpu type is important regarding recommending GPUs otherwise a more powerful GPU will be bottlenecked. Do you know what model/wattage/ connector types the power supply is?
You're probably better off building a newer system if you want something very powerful, but I'm assuming you're just willing to upgrade?
