It has some ventilation at the top, right? For some better cooling you could also add some ventilation at the bottom and make some "legs" for the case so it's a bit higher
Also really cool case
So some ventilation in the floor of the case and having the case suspended. Good idea. What material do you think for the legs? More bamboo to tie in with the rest of the build?
yeah, it should work, as long as the case will be like 1cm above the ground or 1.5
Lol you would be trying to cool the back of the mobo with that config
oh lol, right
would be good to get a look inside the case to see how exactly the components are arranged.
right now there seems to be only one perforated side - wont get airflow through the case that way.
And it’s at the top of the case where hot air would exit
Maybe have intake on every side panel and hope it doesn’t get sucked up at the top?
Or js a really low rpm out take fan lol
Or none at all honestly since the hot air will go out there by nature
yeah but no cold air coming in
Do you think one intake and one outtake fan on top would work. I do have another fan grill area which I can use on one of the sides
This is from the inside
I was thinking of attaching the fan by screwing from exterior facing inwards into the fan
It can have 2x 120mm on the top, or a big 200mm
And then there's that grill on the side which I can use for 120mm
Really cool how the light works in there
generally want more intake than exhaust. problem with top intake is that it multiplies dust falling by gravity getting sucked into the system a thousandfold.
What if i attached a mesh material on the lid
True
I'll shine a light from above to see how it looks 🤣
I think adding a stain to the wood would be cool
like to make it darker or something
2.5" drive mounts would be an easy add to fill space for the project.
And yes generally as much ventilation as possible is better
Would holes in the floor beneath the motherboard if it was suspended help cool it
Yeah I obviously wanted to avoid oils for flammability reasons
So I'm not sure if there's stains that aren't oil based
You can try to make a ventilation thing at the side and add 1 120mm or 2 120mm intake
And then just keep top as it is
So the side would intake the air, and it would just freely go through the case and out on the top
What type of ventilation thing? In addition to the 120mm grill already on the side @rose garnet ?
Oh it's for a fan? I mean okay, I just thought myself about making one wall look kind of the top
With the mesh like opening
Depends on the configuration one fan might be enough, I just thought having a side wall like that with fans would look cool
As you probably see more of the side of the case than top in normal use
Could it be possible to make a cover-up parts that are wooden to go into unused usb port ect
That sounds like a cool idea! Thank you
Like a cover for the I/O and PSU gaps in the bamboo for when its not plugged in?
Yes.
Also imo that 120mm circle could be a decent place to put an itx PSU on the side
But from what I hear you already have some other place for PSU
So that's just a wild thought that appeared for me
If that's possible you could also make this side have double 140mm if there is space for that to basically cover all the airflow needs
I think If you would do whole side in the top style then it should be possible, but also idk if that won't be an overkill or look too big
Btw do you have anything specific you want to put in it or just case?
Meh cool idea but I think that it would have cables in most of the time, like for power and the peripherals/monitor
In specific I mean what components (GPU, CPU and etc)
yeah you can get water based ones I think
on amazon
brilliant, I will have a look!
It's just a proof of concept, but yeah I put a motherboard, PSU, cpu, ram, cpu cooler in but I am yet to do fans and SSD
please update us on how it turned out
