you are building 3 pcs with it?.. right?
oh, mind me asking, family building or customer, or just for fun?
Just for me
@fossil mulch I'm assuming this is a work machine? Because I can't imagine one person needing 4 GPUs for normal gaming PC use
Its 4 pcs
um
so 1 gpu for each
but yes one is for work

that wasn't a question I asked ngl
but I have 3 keychron keyboards coming
Well yeah I understood it's multiple PCs
so what was the question
Unless you had one of those mystical LGA 1700 dual CPU boards
Just what you are using the PCs for, because it's a lot of hardware you have there
Oh
I was gonna upgrade my living room pc with one 4090
use a 4090 for my general server
then one for my work machine and one for gaming pc
I still don't understand
hm?
just... why?
depending on the room locations and cpu requirements for work, I'd imagine you could have the gaming, living room, and work pc all be the same one
just route some cables to the living room for usage there and use the pc for both work and gaming
and what do you use a server for?
Media, general processing, game servers etc
and it can double as a second pc if my work pc ever goes down
Yeah the reason you're getting pushback is that this doesn't really seem to be a good use of hardware, but it's whatever at this point, I hope you enjoy all of it!
One of them isn;t
the media server probably doesn't need a 4090
but I ordered one too many
so I'll use it
but for gaming at 4k and working i wanted a 4090
and then my living room pc is across the house so
Returning them might also be an option but it's more work for me than it's worth
to me it just kind of seems like unnecessary spending
Yeah but it's their money,
This point, just let them enjoy it
Probably

but then again $1200 motherboard is def excessive
There is some peace of mind in having the best
How would it be more expensive than building two more entire pcs?
1 more pc and just hiring electricians, getting fiber optic hdmi cables to go through the entire house etc
if not more expensive def more annoying
two more pcs since you'd use the pc for work and gaming as well, and why would you have to hire electricians?
to route the cables through the walls
why route them through the walls then?
just route them where?
along the walls or something, near the floor or ceiling
yeah, so no need for a separate gaming pc. three different usages collapsed into one pc instead of getting three pcs.
work and gaming cant be one
why not?
what does that mean?
It just means that the work I do and the pleasure things I do
need to be on two seperate devices
so, personal preference
then I imagine there's a better answer to that then "it just needs to be"
@dense meteor mind helping me explain why hardware separation might be important for work stuff? I’m not sure how to best describe it
@fossil mulch just curious but why do you need more than 2 pcs? and damn wtf do you do for a living
Also where do you order all the parts at once btw? planning to possibly build a new one
I didn’t order them all at once
I had like 15 tracking codes to keep track of
then dont get a white one 😭
uh no
thats not how that works
to answer the first question scroll up and read lmao
wym
That’s not why you get a prebuilt
???
I just bought like a 5k corsair just cause i didnt have dream gpu lol
if i get dream gpu then ill get a new pc
no waiting for the gpu to get lower so I bought a brand new pc
if you don't mind me asking @fossil mulch, what work do you do that requires that much power?
Photo/video editing
Along with some other stuff
alright
why u ask?
just curious
