Well it is an air cooled GPU so I would suggest not putting it vertical to begin with
But you're going to have to rig some sort of physical mechanism, as you are not able to fit a PCIe slot based one, maybe see if you can get something onto the third fan hub?
Or a thin piece between 2 fans
Alternatively, you could 3D print something that goes into the mounting holes for the fan itself
Why not vertical mounting it? Thermals if horizontal or vertical really dont matter with the 4090, doesnt go higher then 65
I know nobody with a 3d printer
GPUs push air out both sides of the PCB. You're creating a very strange air path inside the case as air is being pushed directly up into the GPU, then out the side of the GPU back down into the bottom fans. Vertical mounting an air cooled GPU rarely makes sense to do
If you're seeing the same temps, I'd bet it's just because your fans have room to ramp up to compensate, but I can't imagine it's the ideal setup there
GPU supports can be made of pretty much anything though. Popsicle sticks cut with a sharp knife, Legos, modeling clay, etc. The two common types 1. Go into the PCIe slots on the case and add an additional cross member below the card, and 2. Support the card from the bottom. Neither are really ideal in this setup
https://www.newegg.com/p/1DW-00FD-00003 something like this for instance could be finagled onto something I'm sure
But you're going to have to really try to find a good spot with the fans there, unless you can add some support to the bottom
You can vertical mount the 4090 or upright mount it. Go for whatever aesthetics you Ike best. They’ll perform no worse either way and temps will still be fine. I vertical mounted my liquid Suprim and have 10 fans and an AIO 😆. My case is an icebox
Yes, but again this is likely you overpowering the disadvantages with more fans, rather than it actually being the better way to cool it. Vertically mounting the GPU like this essentially puts two fan exhausts right against each other pointed at each other.
My GPU Is set up for push pull config.
I swapped the GPU rad fans with 15mm slims in order to make this work and I’m so glad it did. I didn’t wanna see the radiator at all.
That's very cool, but that is a liquid cooled GPU, so what I said doesn't really apply?
@minor bison off topic but can u change the display on that cooler?
@dire berry did you tag the right person? The person you tagged? I don't see any messages from in server history
