Improved Player Experience

  • I often spend a lot of time dealing with new players who have never used tourney bot before, they don’t understand how it works or where they play etc. So, on signup they should get a dm that is either a message explaining how it works for the current format (short and simple explanation) or a video link to a video which explains. Even better, customisable join DM! So I could have it send a video link explaining how it worked with information about when it starts etc.. this could be a premium feature!

  • DM Players on the start of a tournament, nice a simple! Something that would link players their match thread channel and tell them they have a match.

  • More options for formats, like BO3. For example I like doing first to 3 win by 2, but there isn’t a specific option for that which would be nice to have because then it would say it in the tournament information. You could even just allow for a “custom” score format where the admin can write what it is and the bot will accept any number from 1-100 as a score.

Improved Admin Experience

  • Allow me to forfeit a someone for them, whenever I have an AFK I tend to just score the other team 1-0 instead of kicking because it’s easy (buttons) and because I can reverse it if I need to (if they come back right afterwards I’d like to give them another chance which I don’t think you can do with kicking.) Overal, I don’t like kicking players because it means they are permanently gone.

  • Improved Checkin feature, send a DM asking them to check in.. it’s simple and I feel like should already be a thing. The new stupid discord system which sometimes means users cannot see channels unless they select “show all channels” means sometimes users cannot see the check in. This would help that. It would also increase the amount of people who check in.

Have checkin timers, for example 15 minutes before the event start time you could run a 20 minute checkin where it tells users how long is left on the checkin.
