Kindly support this, and also it will be great if we know this is rejected or approved
Admin Role is good for Admin, and there should be Mod role were our judges/mod can score the tour matches.
Although people may get confused by the word admin, Tournament Admin is a globally recognized title for people who manage operation of a tournament. Not to be confused by a "Discord Admin". What you're describing is exactly what the "Tournament Admin" role does. It should not be the responsibility of the bot developers to create a feature because a server's mods are not trustworthy enough to to be given control of a tournament.
this will solve players wrong scoring or cheating
We already have a toggle that prevents players from scoring.
100's of tour can be taken care by Mod without seeing the admin channel.
Just hide the admin channel from the Tournament Organizer role
Just hide the admin channel from the Tournament Organizer role```
The point is we open multiple tournament ... everytime I have to change it.. And some time i forget..
Ok
I think you got confused about what he is trying to say. He is asking for a tournament referee role that has the permissions to score matches but will not be able to change settings in the admin channel (accidentally or intentionally). Even I would love the feature since in my tournaments, I usually have an army of refs to help me manage the tournament but I am always scared that one of them could accidentally reset the tournament or do something foolish.
"Just hide the admin channel from the Tournament Organizer role " That means even I will not be able to see the channel if I create the tournament? (I don't have the server admin privileges to be able to see the channel even after hiding it for the tournament organizer role)
I’m not confused.
I agree this would be a nice to have.
Hard part as a product owner is that we ask ourselves before doing the work if the problem stops the operation of the bot. In this case, no.
So that lumps this ask into the “Nice to have” category.
Everything we consider has a cost because our engineers are paid and this is not a volunteer based company. As it stands, it would be years before we’d recoup the cost of developing this specific feature if there is only a few people that support it.
The reset function has a verification warning explaining to the user what it will do.
If you had proof that your admins regularly nuke events, that’s a different story
Fair enough. Thank you!
