Tbh this is kinda a weird topic for me because a lot of American English slang comes from AAVE & other minority (often queer) communities so there's this weird interplay where on one hand there is some appropriation going on and on another it can be seen as a cool form of accepting cultural differences that used to be shunned
If I say I hate X word I'm not entirely sure if I'm being subtly racist or am protesting against it being bastardized out of the community it came from

But in general ones I appreciate are ones that I do not think have a close match in my normal vocabulary and I will tend to dislike ones that don't
Like I think "poggers" genuinely fits a different niche of "cool" than existing forms (groovy, hip, sick, etc) but I don't really think skibidi does
I think rizz is defensible for similar reasons. I don't like bop just because I do not think the world needed more derogatory terms for women directed towards their sexual activity

also, you don't. If someone says "e" to you, that usually means they are trying to make any reply that makes sense to what you said in that context, and that a filler word is necessary. In this case, you should probably take this as a sign of an end of a topic or conversation. Usually, if they are forced to say this, that means your previous message was confusing, but most of the time it is also a message that could end a conversation after recieving a reply.

The best course of action would actually to just ignore it. Yeah, you can't respond to that at all. After all, you can't respond to a filler word. Ignore the message and either start a new topic, or wait for them to do it.
