i don’t like when people are like “[x character, usually doomguy or an MK character] can’t work in smash because they need gore!” cuz you can absolutely convey a character being violent and ruthless without having to make mario’s guts fly out

you raise a good point! A lot of fan movesets and speculators and general smash hardasses stress too much on capturing the character or series' whole unrestrained essence (something arguably bolstered by Ultimate's character design), when I think we as a whole could use more "evocative" design akin to the spacies or even something like Falcon
unfortunately MK has never been oficially sold in Japan so uh no dice
