I think media consumption has a toll on your mindset and how you view the world, which is why I laugh at the concept of hatewatching
I really don't miss the days I watched gaming and commentary channels, since they are usually laced with really fucked up jokes that I see myself using time and time
Not missing gaming either since it creates frustration beyond recognition

there was this one nsfw furry game (played without the nsfw ofc, the game was on steam after all)
saw a vid on it from markiplier and reckoned it might be funny to try the game myself

that game didn't grant a furry awakening (would've been funny tho) but it did open me up to the existence of not-hetrosexual and not-binary people
in particular, the lex character's androgynous portrayal ended up being the basis of my understanding of gender as something that doesn't have to be conformed to

and the lex character is why i often use "dude" as a gender neutral term (as opposed to being distinctly male-gendered), the same way that people now call everyone "guy" or "mate" despite those terms being traditionally gendered
if you say "i'm a dude" i may respond "yeah everyone's a dude - he's a dude, she's a dude, they're a dude" and the attempt to establish gender will be promptly thwarted

i am facing against mentally disabled kids every single moment of playing this game. doing everything in their power to defend themselves when they are wrong. what can i do when somebody is that ignorant.
