The real advice is to see how the states advances
For noisy area running the game for a few minutes will make it more consistent
Yeah that’s fair, I figured as much, but if there’s two NPCs do I set the npc counter to two and let it run? What config should I be using?
you cant really count the npcs manually
if there are no pokemon npcs and none of the weird noisy water tiles then you can probably manip there
wait a few minutes afk in the area and the npcs should stabilize
testing how many there are on retail is really annoying
you basically just have to try finding your seed with each different npc count value in the range you think it might be
I’m guessing in caves it’s likely easier since they are usually just a room, I’m thinking of trying to do orebourogh cave and just testing the values
@final plover random question. Could it be possible to make a script or something for CFW that "skips" the wait ? Not talking about killing the noise, just speeding up the process

i just got my hands on a lua script for emulator, how would i go about finding npc count? im on route 101 rn and the advances just seems to fluctuate alot even after waiting a bit
is it just a question of looking at the amount of advances and making an estimated guess?
it’s how many advances happen each second
are there any other things that cause advances beside water tiles? because my advances are in the hundred something a second

I would think 90-120 is much more than it should be if it’s just npcs
i made sure to make my char stand still with the time and place message
