rng cute charm glitch help

so i’m doing this on my macbook air laptop. i have pokefinder 4.2.1 and mystic timer from pokemonrng.com . is that all i need on my laptop to do this? and what all do i put for slots? in the pokefinder and mystic time i have open? thank you in advance!

i dont know exactly step by step what to fill in. i looked at “the rng” part under the cute charm glitch, but im very confused as i dont know exactly what to fill out for the poke finder and mystic timer part or what to do?

that's all the programs you'll need, yep

to start the rng process, open pokefinder to gen 4 -> ids

then choose one pid from the pid group you're interested in and have pokefinder search for TID/SID combos that will make that pid shiny.

in the screenshot I'm searching for any TID/SID that will make the PID 8 shiny. If you're wanting a specific TID you'll choose the TID/PID option instead

choose a result, right click, and open generate times for seed.

there will give the dates and times for setting the ds clock and the delay to input into mystic timer

Unfortunately not yeah; though going with the female lead 50% targets will give you like 80-90% of wild encounters

Theres not that many with 25/75/87.5

Theres a few genderless mons or such with only 1 gender like Chansey that it’ll not work on

But it’ll work on all wilds that can be both male and female

Generally if that is your target time you put your target second to the second it shows which is 6 here and the target delay to the delay it shows right next to it

Since idk mystic timer I cannot make that judgement; if eon timer is an option I recommend you just use that cause it’s what 99% of people use

what do i do if im too slow when i get to the tv screen part at the end and the timer goes off to click a but i cant?

like im having trouble getting to be able to click a before it goes off

yes; just if you were on 3ds there were some additional measures to take to increase consistency later

general rule of thumb here is you primarily wanna check for results at or within 1 of your target second
anything further away than 1 second is most definitely just a false result
then secondarily you'll check out the delay hit; on the first try it might be like 200-300 away but once you start calibrating the delay you hit shouldnt be off by more than 50 anymore

remember what i said; firstly check for the seconds

and now after the seconds are checked, check the delay hit; is that delay hit still within reasonable margin compared to your target delay?

yeah. the target delay is 5562 and the delay for this one is 5555

so now you put the delay you hit into eon timers delay hit field and press update

then you try again
during your next attempt you'll need to do something a little different however
generally you can only hit either even numbered delays or odd numbered delays.
Rn youre hitting odd number delays so in this case 5555 but your target is an even number in 5562.
To switch from hitting odds to hitting evens, you need to change the casing on the bottom screen after you have finished typing in your name

so if your name ends in a lowercase letter you probably left that screen by confirming your name whilst lowercase was still selected. This next time you'd select uppercase just before confirming your name

do note though that in diamond and pearl specifically, never in platinum, the delay can sometimes randomly switch between odd and even numbers

on diamond or pearl it may vary every now and then but just ignore those attempts where it does

A little bit generally starter rng in gen 4 is pretty damn annoying and I wouldn’t recommend it for newcomers

so soft resetting is the best bet? i could just do that on my pearl and diamond cartridges i guess.

Imo the best bet is to do egg rng in diamond or pearl with the TID/SID that you just rngd in this game (platinum I presume?) so that it’ll be shiny when hatched in platinum

Cause that’ll be a lot faster than soft resetting assuming average odds
