#Do I actually need a capture card for RNG manip?

I'm completely new to RNGing. Using my Analogue Pocket's save state feature and a modified version of Box on my optic-swapped GCN, I managed to transport (and even make clones of) all of my Pokemon from my legit Sapphire cart, with the goal of hunting Latias, Kyogre and Registeel on a new save. The modified version of Box I mentioned also allowed me to transport the Pokemon to my new save (because having Latias in the dex makes the process faster and the requirement to register 100 mons to use Box on other saves was stupid.) I already have the SID of my new save, and I think I have all the pieces I need to start my hunt (besides completing another playthrough). The question being: Do I need a capture card, or can I do without? I have a GBP attached to my GCN, but prices for composite capture cards are all over the place, and an Analogue dock is half the price of the damn thing. Please and thank you.

Nope! None of those rngs would require you to use a capture card.

You do, with a timer

Any decent guide should explain this to you in detail, id suggest reading through one as a starting point

I know Kyogre is tied to the cutscene and Metang and Latias are tied to when you click the last text box.

Anyhow thanks!

was an EXTREMELY hard catch with tons of reloads, last will be registeel

#

and yeah, all the shinies i caught are lax and square, the encounter values in this save kinda stink

#

any good natures are way off in the hour-long wait periods

so, i managed to get a registeel about 20 minutes after the rayquaza, but my stupid ass thought it could tank a mystic water kyogre’s hydro pump before i set a mid-battle save state

and so here i am 4 hours later
