#Having issues w/ Xurkitree hunting

Hey -- trying to hunt Xurkitree in Ultra Sun, but I always seem to miss the delay by at least 40 frames.

I'm aware that this shouldn't be happening -- usually you shouldn't have to cut/add much to the default delay in 3DSRNGTool. Am I misunderstanding something with how NPC values factor in via PCalc? Any advice would be appreciated.

Xurki room has some npcs that are walking around that make inconsistent this rng. You have to timeleap when this value change from 2 to 1

The latter fluctuates continously, where the former seems to hover at a single value

#

(for some reason it jumped to 45 before I even pressed a at one point)

(Also, stand behind Xurkitree, as this seems to stablise the a press more)

Right, so if I understand this:

  • Press X when NPC Count changes from 2 to 1. Close menu when getting close to timeline leap frame
  • Use PokeReader over PCalc (working on this)
  • No need to change NPC number in 3DSRNGTool?
  • Stand behind Xurk for bigger 1 NPC window

This is exactly correct

This still doesn't seem to be working. I need to hit A on both frames, right?

#

Because I still seem to be missing the frame by at least 20 each time

#

Can't shake the feeling I'm messing up the calibration somehow

#

Just now I got a delay of -100 after shaving like 64 frames off the initial delay

#

What's going on here...?

#

(also am I nuts or does pokereader's pause functionality seem really screwy)

#

Ignoring that last bit for a sec. If anyone has any experience w/ doing this hunt, anyone know what the average delay for it seems to be?

Frame 2 is the a press to trigger the encounter

yeah that seems like it was my issue

#

I'll give this another crack a bit later

#

also I think I missed the whole "frame 1 is when you should close the menu, frame 2 is the a press to start the encounter" thing

#

is that a xurkitree-exclusive thing because of its area setup?

#

like ik it's a bit of a fringe case for the UBs, but I wasn't sure on how extreme

Menu is closed (with x) on frame 1

Noted for future reference

Yeah, this stabilized it. Thanks a ton for the clarification!
