credits are a fickle thing that gets lost in translation rather quickly. doing it frivolously cause also land people in a really nasty situations when bad actors start feelin... deserving
and theres many situations where a near perfect match with suggested content are added, whos to say that it was simply a coincidence! the games do change afterall
my rule of thumb is that, suggestions are free-of-charge for simplicity sake.
if you feel like you deserve something special, the act of having the thing in the game is special. And thats not a diss or anything.
Because in a situation where you WANT the suggested content to be in the game, but its not done correctly, do we roll the content back? is the suggestor responsible now? Did I miss a credit and now we're feeling angry? no more suggested content out of fear of what people will feel weird about stuff? then whats the point?
Specific credits are given when specific content is provided, such as the christmas contest. Which sometimes still runs that risk, but at a much more controlled scale! And obviously that's the correct thing to do
story time:
One time, I had a band skin in bv acredited to someone (or it might've been something else totally), but their 'friends' came after the mods here and started dm'ing everyone nasty stuff demanding it down since i guess another one helped alittle
literally didn't stop, original creditee didnt want anything to do with it, says otherwise. what turned fun community driven thing no longer fun
I can only hope that the community here is awesome and totally chill however, which is why I like community stuff in the first place :)
[Ill add a disclaimer to #1046699874340569139 I guess thats unclear :P]
