By either adding an additional notch that only effects the knights skin or by making the first charm equipped change the skin, tho making it skip the voidheart charm

Currently trying for the Steel Heart achievement, and was wondering if there's some kind of mod to add a HUD for tracking purposes (eg. items, bosses, etc that count towards 100%). Something like a checklist, similar to what players would use for an item randomizer HUD

A lot of Windows app programs were finally made "moddable" though, so that could also be the only change

Longer answer: you can try. The supported moddable versions right now are 1.5.78 (typically referred to as Current Patch, and uses the Scarab mod installer), and 1.4.3.2 (the old current patch, and uses Mod Installer 1 or 2).
It appears that Gamepass updated from 1432 -> 1580
I'm not sure if this patch will have breaking changes from 1578

If you want to try, then you'd want to download Scarab from the #archived-modding-help pins, and then point it to the hollow knight install folder. I don't know where that folder is for Gamepass though.

Are you sure it was the right folder?
Because afaik, the gamepass one is supposed to let things modify files of it now, and if that's the case then it should have either worked, or crashed your game. But running in vanilla wasn't one of the outcomes

Possibly you need to opt into a game being moddable?
Like, Gamepass version was considered unmodifiable at all until very recently. Then it was announced that more Windows app things would correctly be moddable, but the details aren't super clear around here because it's so recent, and no one really uses that version.
At least last week, in order to mod the gamepass one, you either need to use a tool to copy the game to another folder, or opt into some beta program that Windows apps was doing.
I was thinking that with this update, maybe that beta was no longer required. It might still be though

so it works for some people at least~
though did have a strange moment when i died to radiance and respawned with intact soul vessel and the shade permanently stuck to my character. game still played fine though so I beat the game like this

You could just regenerate that playthrough though. The seed will be in one of your logs.

90% of skins use the default charms so i dont know if having those on there is really necessary. The space might be better used for other spells or to make the checklist more legible. Or just remove it to streamline the whole thing.

Charm changes are cool but honestly they're a hassle (I at least know charms by their look not their slot in the menu) and you don't actually end up looking at them that often, even on the skins that do have them.

Yeah maybe it would but they can maybe steal some moves from other bosses like maybe from hornet and instead of nail it is a map like nail throw he throws map that makes player harder to see and they can have map dash where he runs at you and slashes you with map and you get paper cut

I was decent when i started trying any radiance but i could rarely even get to spike floor phase
I practiced animation cancelling and dodging and i got way better
Obviously still requires a decent amount of luck but practice helps a lot
If you can no hit absrad then you can definitely beat anyrad with enough practice

id number for your skin can be set to whatever you want. the file id.txt (which you may need to create if it isn't already there) in the folder of that skin should have the id number and only that number which you can freely edit. then you can use that number in the hkmp menu in game to wear the skin. other connected players will see you using whatever skin they've assigned (if any) to the number you've picked

welp, finished hollowpoint with rando, here is my personal guide:
no dash? no monarch? no worries! dashmaster with any decent fire rate gun basicly carries you thro anything that usually requires both (other then one exception in crystal peaks with the crusher pistons)
deep focus and quick focus are godly combo that practicly allows you to heal every 2 shots with full adrenaline 2 masks, practicly making you immortal in places like coliseum, ambushes, collector and zote in godhome (wave 900! stopped cuse was bored)
soul catcher, heavy blow and quickslash are terrible gun kits, as they offer low damage, low range and low soul "reload" compare to flukenest, mark of pride and the defult AK47 gun
fury is bugged to give buff with no downsize, max adrenaline + strength + mark of pride gunkit = slightly above 40 dmg (oneshots primal aspids!)
hiveblood suddenly becomes what everyone thought hiveblood usually is, with max adrenaline it passive regen slightly faster, AND all the way to max hp, reguardless how many hits in quick succession you got prior.
massive moss charger is strongest being in this cannonic universe as its the only thing that is completely IMMUE to bullets
every single mod including hollowpoint itself will do everything in their existance to find a reason to bug out your soul reload, locking you out of your gun once you run out untill you reload the game, or carefully manage to keep at all time soul that would be enough to kill enemies.
grubberfly elegy is useless, and so is every single spell other then the version that is competeble only with quickslash, heavy blow and soul catcher, which are amazing and can be used with other guns if you equip grubsong (abyss shriek can stack infinitly practicly giving you godmod and killing ultra tanky bosses like abs rads within 2 seconds if you exclude the pursuit in between)
