one of the few game revamping mods
instead of playing as the normal knight with a nail, you shoot a projectile
also changes alot of charms
if you play it, i reccomend playing it with Child of Light enabled
the other big ones are (iirc):
- Redwing
- Blackmoth
- hollow point

AFAIK there's ToT, like you said, as the cleanest vresion of that.
There's also DecorationMaster custom map-edits (in the pins of this channel).
And NG+ I think re-does King's Pass? I've never played it though.

My poor ol laptop can barely run vanilla hollow knight so until I have saved up enough money for a proper pc the only mod I can use is the “press g to dab” one lol

you might be able to run washer knights and beans defender as well since they just replace the boss's sprites
custom knight should be fine too right?
it preloads a lot of objects so it might not work well, but maybe if be a CustomKnight Lite existed that'd only replace the Knight.png & Sprint.png it might be light enough to work.

Though CK does allow disabling preloads using the settings.json so that might make it work if they delete all files they want to skin without

How does the "last used Knight" feature work? Could a person with a bad PC potentially select a skin to swap, then save and quit, then open the game and it treats that skin as your default skin?
(I assume that that's why it works with Hollow Point at any rate)

There's one on the Mod Installer that is outdated and not super stable.
There's also https://github.com/Extremelyd1/HKMP, which is actively being updated, had additional features, and is pretty stable.

I assume it works with hollow point simply because ck changes the textures before hollow point it's basically the same code as clicking the buttons just runs on load

Hi. Does anyone know what the plans are going forward for HK mods regarding game versions? Since 1.4.3.2 (I think) is no longer cp, are the mods going to be updated to work with 1.5 only from now on? Will the new mods, including ones in the works like the Sanctuary be 1.5 only? I have to use 1.4.3.2 (mac user... I regret my choices 😄 ) and I am curious to know whether I should adjust my expectations for being able to use future mods. If no decision has been talked about publicly, that's cool - I'm just wondering 🙂

That version won't open on my computer. Unless it got updated since I tried it last week, which I suppose is possible. From one of the pins in modding help, it sounded like it was a general mac problem.
i think it happens on updated mac, iirc TC had put out a post saying they're looking into it so i assume 1.5 will work on up to date macs eventually
they also suggested some workarounds that might work to fix it

i think it will depend on each mod and their developer(s). old mods might be maintained feature complete with 1.5 or only bug fixes might be made, i'd probably do the latter once majority of the playerbase switches to cp (1.5.whenever.its.done).
For now atleast debug has been feature equivalent between the 2 versions

This is frustrating as hell lol. The only way to get to Sly in Lightbringer (for me) is to get through the dark hallway in Crystal Peak. I'll get it eventually, but I really HATE the crystal fly hunter thing there.
Because I accidentally used my only simple key on Jiji (since you only get another one from Sly or super dark places).

I just found a bug in debug mod. When you try to set the time scale to something like 10 by pressing the increase timescale button it starts becoming something like 9.99999999

so guys when playing the hollow knight, we are playing the game separately but are projected on each other's screen, but we do seem to hit the (invisible) bosses if we happen to finish our boss first, so is it work in progress cause that should be an option, to do the boss fights like in coop.

So I'm almost done organizing the entire knight sprite sheet and there's this one folder that's odd.
Anyone have an idea what "DJ" stands for? All of the sprites in this folder appear to be sprites of the knight kneeling down or whatever when it's getting up off the ground, picking something up, or landing really hard…if that gives any tiny hint at least.
Lol I'm doing all of the collection/getting up/landing animations at this point to finish, so I could probably just make a note including it in one of the others since some of the sprites cross over. Like one of the sprites for running was a sprite in the slash animation. I just want to see if anyone knows what "DJ" is so I can possibly test it in-game

is there a mod that adds Mask Damage to each damage? for example, enemies that do 1 damage now do 2, enemies that do 2 now do 3, or 1 to 3 and 2 to 4, 1 to 4 and 2 to 5, etc. i would like to do NG+ Hollow Knight and i figure that is the best way to do it

i actually think it would be quite easy. its literally just adding +1, +2, +3, etc etc damage. no actual NG+ cycle required. just a Damage Addition mod, essentially.

the mod iteself was free but the making was paid (assuming your talking about the grub killing one)
the way i see it is sometimes (a lot of the time) people just dont want to do stuff for free, so if you offer even just a few bucks incentive, it shows youre not just looking for a handout, and even respect the coders time

Paying to use mods is definitely not great though, imo. I don't think there's anything completely wrong with it, but it goes against the spirit of modding- the only way I could understand paying to use a mod is if it was very large in scale, not something that's easily replaceable, and being very actively maintained. In general though, having the ability to donate / fund the creator of mods, without needing to pay to use a mod, would just make more sense.

Fwiw, people do stuff that's technically not legal / allowed by licensing all the time. That kind of understanding should be had if you're going to talk about ethics of similar stuff though.
Like, if you say "it's okay for people to charge to use mods even if it's against the licensing", then you're saying that "licensing doesn't matter" to you, and therefore "pirating things is fine" because it's just another license that stops it.

At least the emulation stuff with Nintendo Online is a step in the right direction, even if it's not really a great model for people that are only interested in the games themselves.
It would be if ROMs just had a legal way to purchase them though. Heck, sell them individually for $1 each, and offer their own PC emulation software for $60. People would get it, and probably buy extra rom copies regularly from misplacing the files or whatnot.

Check the pins for the two Google drives of publicly available skins.
If any skin is not in there you'll have to try and hunt it down yourself by contacting either somebody who is using it or the creator if you know them.

this + that Additional Enemy Damage mod that Mul made earlier + that Additional Enemy Health mod i currently have on request is the closest thing i can think of to a NG+ mode. the only further i can think of is starting with all your stuff or being able to collect more masks and/or charm notches, but even then i think that would be a little too broken and missing the original point of the challenge i had in mind.
honestly im really grateful for modders like you all. you guys make an already amazing game more fun.

Pretty sure you can make a file with what you need. You can edit the amount of masks you have in a new file and still collect more
