hey for custom knight theres always a few sprites like when you enter a dream world etc where it just uses the default vessel sprite, is it because these spritees cant be changed?

All of those sprites are on the sprite sheets that get edited. But the parts you're referencing are a part of animations before the mod hook is active in that scene or something. The same thing happens during waking up animations too.

Not sure if this is the best channel for this, but I've been working from home and have found that the most recent version of Citrix Workspace causes my HK to crash with a UnityPlayer error if I am trying to play current patch or play Rando on current. It works fine after I uninstalled the most recent version of the Workspace app and installed the LTSR instead. PoH, all bindings, only defenders crest, radiant, no nail, no spell, bosses have double health, there are no checkpoints, you cannot use the lifeblood mask bonus from checkpoints, dream bosses in the pantheon have increased volatility to their richochet/floating physics, no spells, nail length decreased by 1/3 of its distance, platforms have spikes on ceilings and walls, boss collision hitboxes slightly increased in size, knight slightly increased in size, watcher knights can sustain three knights active at a time, no soul, walking speed decreased by 65%, zote gains lvl 6 zote attacks, all bosses that wait between attacks shorten their wait time by 60%, collector bugs require 4 hits to kill, the collector's death goop causes damage, the gruz mother releases gruzzies upon death, the gruzzies require 3 hits each to kill, the pure vessel has increased nail hitboxes and spell hitboxes that don't align with the sprites and are disjointed, absolute radiance only provides one platform in the final phases and the light beams are 75% thicker, you have to fight Myla right before zote in the third pantheon portion of the PoH superchallenge, both thimes before u fight zote, and jump height is decreased by 10%. Boss movement speed via jumping or walking is increased 30%. There is no waiting portion for healing after a boss is defeated. The Shadow dash recharge time is increased by 240%. The double jump monarch wings do not recharge when the knight hits an enemy, only when the knight hits the ground. The knight's dash only cools down when the knight hits an enemy, not after a certain time or when the knight hits the ground. The knight may not use nail arts. The knight must pay 12000 geo to attempt the superchallenge. The bosses are increased in size by 20%. super dark no lantern.

Hollow Knight uses Unity and C# just do note you can really alter HK directly with the editor, as for bosses its possible to create your own (one being developed right now atm) but most new bosses atm are modifications of existing ones, and youll have to refer to their code if you wanna learn stuff since its all open source anyway

You could also find and spawn Audio Player Actor from the GameManager's global pool and then play your audioclip from there
It has all the in game sound attributes like in game volume, dampening when damaged, etc

in order to make co-op, you'd have to duplicate the hero controller, make it function with different controls, change the camera, change boss and enemy behavior, make sure all hitboxes and triggers etc are working properly. make sure loading works properly. transitions working properly. You'd have to basically rewrite most of the game

and yeah, copying a lot of dev code is possible, but you'd also have to change A LOT and do a lot of searching. It adds a lot of confusion and murkiness to not work from a blank slate

Hi guys. I just bought Hollow Knight a few weeks ago and I'm loving it so far. I saw the skin that LazyCat made and really wanted to get a hold of it but it seems really impossible at the moment because of the theft incident. So I was wondering if anyone here can help me get started with making my own custom knight skin. I don't have any experience with using apps like photoshop but I'm willing to try and learn just so I can make my own skin. If there are apps that I need to get started please let me know.
Also, I've been watching LazyCat streaming how he makes his custom skin since yesterday and I saw this app that he was using which was some sort of sprite picker for the animations in game. Everything is in Chinese so I can't really figure out what the name of the application is. If there is an english version of that, I think that would really be helpful.

there's a pin in #art-discussion with literally all in-game sprites
you'll need some misc image editing/art software to do that though
to take those in-game sprites and edit/draw them
art people will be the most knowledgable about what art programs will be available
which will be beginner friendly so that you can try using them without much experience
which will offer what tools
and all taht you can need to edit the in-game sprites to make your own CustomKnight skin
except, as I said
outside of TWP, there's just about no art folks in the modding channels

Can someone test if they can fight the hollow knight?

Been playing with mods no problem for something like 40 hours, one time I load up, no mods seem to be active, and my file select is broken, not only not showing save file but won't even let me start a new game.
validate file integrity, fixes it, but now no mods are functioning. I've gone so far as to unistall and reinstall each individual mod as well as mod installer as a whole. Only running Bench Warp, Health Bars, and Inf Notches
would appreciate any ideas on how to fix!
