HKMP (Hollow Knight Multiplayer)

How it works

HKMP puts a copy of each player into each other players world.
Enemies have separate health and will usually be in different places; Items/abilities must be collected separately; and Breakable objects must be broken by each player. Player attacks happen in each player's world, damaging any enemies/players it comes in contact with. A player is only hurt by the enemies in their own world. This page explains how you can use other mods and addons to synchronize some aspects, and improve your experience.

You're free to do whatever, but there's not going to be much support for nexus modding here as thunderstore is the community recommendation

Also both nexus & thunderstore both use bepinex which doesn't effect the actual game files. You might corrupt a save at worst but you should always make backups before modding anyway

For a first playthrough going up to 112% the usual consensus is to play fully vanilla with no mods whatsoever
You can get some mods to make the game easier if you are having a lot of trouble but I doubt you will need them
Whatever you do and if you want to ignore this and download mods anyways, do not download the "QoL" mod, it was made with speedruns in mind and removed a ton of cutscenes and such

You would have more luck asking in the modding server
There is an equivalent mod that lets you do that in hk, so surely it can exist in silksong, though I doubt that stuff released this early is fully functional
That karm skin i would guess just calls upon the actual karm sprite and doesn’t modify the hornet sprites at all

when playing the game modded through r2modman, cutscenes run at 21fps for some reason with desynced audio, so the audio ends before the cutscene does. I've tried looking up how to fix it but nothing works. It jumps right back to 120 and stays there as soon as the cutscene ends so it's not a specs problem. My specs are more than good enough to run this game at 120 the whole time. It's just when playing modded.

I did also download reshade with the RenoDX add on but am not using any additional effects.

It seems like it might be RenoDX for some reason because I just tried it in Vanilla, so only Reshade is on, and the issue is still there with no changes

This is the mod for reskinning things in the game

Resources

Common issues

  • If the Skin List is covering up other mods, you can toggle it with Del or Fn+Del. You can edit this Keybind in the Custom Knight menu.
  • If your skin doesn’t show up in the menu, ensure that you extracted it from the zip/rar/etc it came in (tutorial: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1207486627124093019/1403869873192571024/i.png).
  • If your skin doesn’t work, go to Options > Mods > Custom Knight > Advanced > Fix My Skins. After this you may need to click Reload in the previous menu.
    • Upgraded Dream Shield (UDS) breaks Custom Knight’s first launch. To use both mods at once: disable UDS, open a save with only Custom Knight and wait until it stops lagging. You can then close the game and enable UDS again.
  • If you see White Boxes ◻️, restart your game. You may also need to apply skins in a small room like a stag station.
  • Ensure that you apply skins from the Pause Menu when your save file is loaded. Skins applied from the Main Menu only affect new files.

Troubleshooting

Resources

Common issues

  • If the Skin List is covering up other mods, you can toggle it with Del or Fn+Del. You can edit this Keybind in the Custom Knight menu.
  • If your skin doesn’t show up in the menu, ensure that you extracted it from the zip/rar/etc it came in (tutorial: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1207486627124093019/1403869873192571024/i.png).
  • If your skin doesn’t work, go to Options > Mods > Custom Knight > Advanced > Fix My Skins. After this you may need to click Reload in the previous menu.
    • Upgraded Dream Shield (UDS) breaks Custom Knight’s first launch. To use both mods at once: disable UDS, open a save with only Custom Knight and wait until it stops lagging. You can then close the game and enable UDS again.
  • If you see White Boxes ◻️, restart your game. You may also need to apply skins in a small room like a stag station.
  • Ensure that you apply skins from the Pause Menu when your save file is loaded. Skins applied from the Main Menu only affect new files.

Modding "Xbox Games" versions (Gamepass / Microsoft's App Store):

Note: this is for Desktop/Laptop. You cannot mod the game on Xbox consoles

  • Use Lumafly (it has additional support for this version that other installers currently don't have)
  • Right-Click the Lumafly.exe and select "Run as Administrator"

Personally I'd just search through lumafly but alot of modded bosses are only available through godhome and when you say attacks do you mean alternate attacks for the knights, stuff like hollow point. so what you do is you get a map, quickly press quick map, up, quick map near an npc, bench, mash through the text to gain control, leave the room opening your inventory before leaving, now you have bench storage and can change your charms at all time

  • If the Skin List is covering up other mods, you can toggle it with Del or Fn+Del. You can edit this Keybind in the Custom Knight menu.

  • If your skin doesn’t work, go to Options > Mods > Custom Knight > Advanced > Fix My Skins. After this you may need to click Reload in the previous menu.
    • Upgraded Dream Shield (UDS) breaks Custom Knight’s first launch. To use both mods at once: disable UDS, open a save with only Custom Knight and wait until it stops lagging. You can then close the game and enable UDS again.
  • If you see White Boxes ◻️, restart your game. You may also need to apply skins in a small room like a stag station.
  • Ensure that you apply skins from the Pause Menu when your save file is loaded. Skins applied from the Main Menu only affect new files.

I have like 60 hours in the game and downloaded INFINITY (the mod with the boss ||boundless infinity||) and I can confirm it is a difficult fight; Ive only gotten it down by like a bit over a quarter in 20 or so attempts unlike ||abs rad|| which took like 10 total. Its a really fun fight :3
