the mod comes with a prebuilt save file at the boss. but generally speaking, silksong debug mod is generally the way to go if u want to give urself stuff, with save editing being an alternative option if u cant get what u want with debug mod

Generally it's recommended to play them on their own

Some are straight up incompatible or others just don't make too much sense to play together (IE Pale Court content is never found on a Glimmering Realm save)

Windows won't let me open the Mod Installer

How to fix Installer Errors

• Make sure Hollow Knight is CLOSED.
• Make sure that the Installer isn't in your Downloads folder (Desktop or a folder on the same drive as your game install is best).
• If the installer is in a .zip, then you must Extract it
• Right-click the installer file, and select "Run as Administrator"
• If Lumafly is automatically closing, you may be missing a system file to open it. This is currently easily fixed by running the older installer, Scarab once.

Its different for now. There's no real standard & several different skin mods. I think you have to install/activate the one you want before opening the game? But I don't have any direct experience, just going off comments I've seen.

• Use Lumafly (it has additional support for this version that other installers currently don't have)
  • Download: https://themulhima.github.io/Lumafly?download
  • Make sure that the Lumafly's exe isn't in Downloads. Ideally put it on your Desktop.
• Right-Click the Lumafly.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
  • It should automatically find the install and ask if it's correct. If it doesn't find it, then you will need to link it to the Hollow Knight.exe found in C:\XboxGames\Hollow Knight\Content by default.

What do save files looks like?

• Each Hollow Knight save file is a user#.dat where # is the save slot for the file

Reverting Backups

• Automatic backups are called user#.dat.bak#, where the first # is the save slot, and the second # is the backup number. You will usually have your last three backups

Modded Saves

Bingosync is kinda the only thing, you can select short cards on bingo sync iirc which has a separate pool of goals but it kinda sucks
You have a bunch of bingo mods which lets you generate cards with different settings but those mostly add goals, the granularity you are after doesn’t really exist, besides by making your own boards by hand

Its probably a few year old deprecated options, the goals were really uninteresting (like get dash)

Nexus as a platform has been progressively becoming both anti-user (more ads, limited download rates, required accounts, source code not shown or required) and anti-developer (devs cannot remove their own work).

We also ran a survey that had over a thousand community members respond, and a majority reported that they didn't enjoy using Nexus nor their experiences with it.

It's worth noting that while stuff is on seemingly on both Nexus and Thunderstore currently, Thunderstore actually has a special version of Bepinex for Silksong that helps with more platform compatibility, and overtime will exclusively have more main community mods.

It's not hard, all you have to do is extract BepInEx in the right folder, open and close the game, then put the mod dlls in a certain folder

So turning QOL on in the main menu makes it the default for new save files. When i leave the new save file and go back in the menu, QOL is marked as "off" and starting a new game shows "off" as well but inventory drops work
Same goes when rebooting the game, QoL is marked as "off", but starting a new save file lets you inventory drop.

Now, should I assume the same goes for theHuntIsOn settings (which are way longer to reconfigure every time you start a new game than simply toggling on QoL) and the displayed settings, all at default, are not the one actually in use ?

You literally just use r2Modman or Gale

If you manually messed with your actual install, then need to delete everything Bepinex related in it. Thunderstore installers keep everything loaded separate from the install so that your install itself is never messed up

• click the link to the installer (install I like Gale, although it seems to recently be having issues loading the list of mods; R2Modman seems very stable in my experience so far)
• Download the version for your computer (on Windows you'd use an EXE or MSI file)

• If the Skin List is covering up other mods, you can toggle it with Del or Fn+Del. You can edit this Keybind in the Custom Knight menu.
• If your skin doesn’t show up in the menu, ensure that you extracted it from the zip/rar/etc it came in (tutorial: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1207486627124093019/1403869873192571024/i.png).
• If your skin doesn’t work, go to Options > Mods > Custom Knight > Advanced > Fix My Skins. After this you may need to click Reload in the previous menu.
  • Upgraded Dream Shield (UDS) breaks Custom Knight’s first launch. To use both mods at once: disable UDS, open a save with only Custom Knight and wait until it stops lagging. You can then close the game and enable UDS again.
• If you see White Boxes ◻️, restart your game. You may also need to apply skins in a small room like a stag station.
• Ensure that you apply skins from the Pause Menu when your save file is loaded. Skins applied from the Main Menu only affect new files.

Starting Pale Court

• Install it using Lumafly
• You must have ||All dreamers||
• You must have ||defeated a specific boss:|| ||White Defender||
• You must then find the location that connects each Knight to the world. You can watch the Launch Trailer if you want directions where to go.

Known problems with Pale Court

• HKTool and WeaverCore are not compatible with Pale Court (or each other)
• AdditionalMaps, Extra MenuBackgrounds, EssenceAlways (and any mod that attempts to force Essence drops) aren't compatible, and will prevent you from being able to enter fights.
• Using a BenchWarp Deployed Bench in new areas will break the file
  • If you accidentally do this, then close the game, disable Benchwarp, then open the file again. Get off the bench you spawn at, and sit down again. Then save+quit, and you should be able to enable Benchwarp again.
  • Alternatively, you can open your user#.modded.json for that file, and edit "atDeployedBench": true, -> "atDeployedBench": false, . You can type ?tag savefaq for more information.
• HK Vocalized may prevent you from accessing fights
  • (This appears to not be consistently reproducible, but if you can't enter fights, then try disabling it)
• Skill Upgrades will prevent Charms from working correctly
• Hollow Point will not work if Pale Court is installed
• Any mod that adds new Charms may prevent Charms from working.

If you're having other issues, then please read #1090079233520451714 and create a #1057825333841240104 post with the requested info and any details. Be aware that Pale Court was not designed to be compatible with other mods, and you will usually need to choose between using either Pale Court or the other mod(s).
