How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

Little tip for the call ||On the first phase with Isma and White Defender right at the start, Isma only spikes dung balls at you every second time White Defender jumps from the ground, the times she isn't there is prime Abyss Shriek territory||

||Mark of Pride and Sharpshadow are working really well for me because hitting just from that extra distance on White Defender really helps||

probably, yeah. you need to have fought certain bosses/done certain things (stuff like white defender, flower quest) in order for the mod to actually begin - if you really wanna play it, your best bet is to download a completed save file and play on that instead.

||Isma is good but not great, her first phase is probably the hardest with the shooter plants but once I started focusing them when they spawned it was alright, the invincible plants in the rest of the fight are a huge negative though, I hate that they’re shielded and if they were killable but regrow, I think would be an annoyance still but not a huge downside to the fight. Or perhaps the walls in phase 2 could be climbable and have the venus traps still around which would force you to be even more light in the air for phase 3. Her desperation phase tho sucks genuinely, especially if you use hp bar and empty her health bar only for her to not go down and it disappear, and then barrage you with thorns, which are another negative btw cus they don’t follow what you’d assume an attack like this would do with alternating patterns, but instead directly target you (also who’s funny idea was it to have plants shooting you in an attack like this huh? I want to speak with them.) other than that she’s pretty fun tho||

||Not much to say about Ze’mer, her big nail is cool, her teleporting is really cool, only real issue is her telegraphs are a bit too similar, idk if that’s intentional or not, her fight was fun it just didn’t really spark with me like Dryya and Isma did||

||That 2 invincible plants that spawn in the second phase are awesome, they add like pace to it, you need to think more about when to heal and how to dodge. The vines that she spawns are awesome, desperation phase is pretty easy, work almost the same as the soul master's phase transition attack. She looks the most like the vanilla hk bosses, her animations are great, attack are well telegraphed, I wish other bosses were like her.||

Mods/Controller not working correctly on Steam Deck
Issue: Steam Deck installs the Windows version of HK, then runs it in proton. This would be fine except that you install Linux Scarab, which replaces the Assembly-Csharp with the Linux version, and then it doesn't like to work correctly on "Windows" anymore

Solution: Go to the HK Library page, select Properties -> Compatibility, check "Force the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool", and select "Steam Linux Runtime" (Note: not the sniper or soldier versions)

This will reinstall the Linux version of the game, and move some files around, so you'll need to select "Change Paths" in Scarab and change it to the new install path, then reinstall your mods. After this, everything should be working.

Known problems with Pale Court

• MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE LATEST UPDATED VERSION
• AdditionalMaps, Randomizer 4, Extra MenuBackgrounds, EssenceAlways (and any mod that attempts to force Essence drops) aren't compatible, and will prevent you from being able to enter fights.
• Using a BenchWarp Deployed Bench in new areas will break the file
  • If you accidentally do this, then close the game, disable Benchwarp, then open the file again. Get off the bench you spawn at, and sit down again. Then save+quit, and you should be able to enable Benchwarp again.
  • Alternatively, you can open your user#.modded.json for that file, and edit "atDeployedBench": true, -> "atDeployedBench": false, . You can type ?tag savefiles for more information.
• HK Vocalized may prevent you from accessing fights
  • (This appears to not be consistently reproducible, but if you can't enter fights, then try disabling it)
• Skill Upgrades will prevent Charms from working correctly
• Hollow Point will not work if Pale Court is installed
• Any mod that adds new Charms may prevent Charms from working.

If you're having other issues, then please read #1090079233520451714 and create a #1057825333841240104 post with the requested info and any details. if anyone else has this issue the easiest way to fix it is to make sure you have debug and benchwarp on, go into a different save and set a keybind for freeze game. then go in you main save and press the freeze game keybind you set. then it should pause the game and then you can warp to a bench

hi, I bought hollow knight recentely, however my controllers dont work on the official build. I used both a ps5 controller connected by wire and an xbox one controller connected by bluetooth. The weird thing is that it works completely fine on the 32bit version however that means I cant use mods. If anyone knows a fix I would be infinitely grateful.

I have tried changing the controller settings in steam, enabling and disabling steam input, enabling and disabling native controller input ingame and tried downloading X360. none of that worked.

My guess would be that it is on purpose, because there's a lot of the world that you're meant to see at certain times. In order to have control over what they player is seeing, you need to have a stanardized camera view

the installation has been simplified since the video was uploaded, since you directly download a .exe file you don't have anything to extract and you won't have several files either, so just get the .exe, move it to a different location than your download folder and double click it (or right click -> run as administrator)

never messed with editing save files. I'm not sure there even is a flag you can change for infinite soul. I'd recommend opening a ticket to troubleshoot your scarab issue, or trying scrab+ if you're on regular scarab
