After installing, in order to actually use the mod
When the mod is correctly installed, you should see it at the top-left of your main menu, with the other mods you have installed.

If there is also some larger text that says "Load Enemy Randomizer", then press that button to randomize the enemies using the default settings (Note: you will need to wait a few minutes while this loads). If the button is not there, then go into Options > Mods, and Disable the mod, and then re-enable it. You will also need to close the game entirely, and re-open it.

Hello. I am trying to manually add a mod to scarab. I followed the instructions on adding a mod file (trying to add Grimmchild upgrades and Infinite Grimm) into the mod files, however it doesn't appear on scarab, nor do I see it in my game. What am I missing?

So after playing Jedi Fallen Order, there was something on the minimap I think could be useful for beginner randomizer players. Whenever you unlock an ability, previous spots that were locked by that ability are revealed as unlocked. So maybe in rando, if you have the map of the area, there could be a symbol that appears on various rooms where you can use a newfound powerup to progress. Could replace Iselda's map-pin items no one buys like the stag-pins or the hotspring-pins

A good example could be that room in Forgotten Crossroads where you can use Isma's Tear to get into Fungal Wastes

Another fun rando idea could be for the Dream Warriors to give hints when you kill them, or for their Hunter's Journal entries to be replaced with a hint, like how the Ocarina of Time rando put hints into the Shiekah Stones

Hey, I've been using some mods, and when I'm playing it seems like some bosses take a lot of hits before they're killed, particularly Mantis Lords and Soul Tyrant. I'm using bonfire, transcendence, and infinite notches, does anything nerf you at all? It also seems like my attack is really low all the time, I'm not equipping any charms that seem to lower attack, like Snail Nail or anything like that

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

🔹 Scarab doesn't open correctly on MacOS

• Move the file you downloaded (mac.zip) to your Desktop
• Double-Click it, and Scarab should appear
• Right-Click the Scarab icon, and select "show contents"
• Go into the MacOS folder, and then double-click the "Scarab" file.

🔹 ⚠️Scarab cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

• In the Finder on your Mac, locate the app you want to open. Don’t use Launchpad to do this! It doesn’t allow access the shortcut menu.
• Control + click the app icon, then choose "Open" from the shortcut menu.
• Click "Open".
  The app is now saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it like normal.

I always use Health Bars. I enjoy having that additional information, and rarely does it matter.
But I also acknowledge that I play riskier when I know that a boss is almost dead, so it clearly does affect my gameplay. ymmv

I usually only recommend mods for a casual playthru if the other option is not playing at all. Otherwise I think you should at least try to experience it as Team Cherry intended (in this case, without HP bars). But if it is ruining your experience/you're thinking of quitting because base game doesn't have it, then go for it.

I've never really used a healthbar before, mainly because I acknowledge when half the bosses reach their next phase. An easy example is how Grimm will pufferfish every time he loses 25% of his maximum health, so if you're fighting Nightmare King and you've gotten through the third pufferfish, it's just a matter of not dying to his standard attacks and abilities. Or with most of the dream bosses, they add an additional attack when they lose a third or half of their HP.

But healthbars are still helpful, nonetheless.

I've never heard of telegram is it user friendly & worth creating an account just to DL skins? I don't mind downloading the sheets individually if pandownload would LET me lol, had to do that for lots of skins in the past. I just don't understand why it wasn't letting me - no error or anything, when I clicked on some of the files it just would go blank for a minute & then stay on the files page and never pull up the download page.

so for example, the one in the start of the game where ghost jumps off the cliff into king's pass, they actually do that but in-game instead of in a cutscene
the one where hornet appears in city of tears, she actually does that in the game

To manually install mods on 1.5.78.
🔹 Download the mod (it'll be either a dll file or a folder).
🔹 Go to your /Mods folder and create a folder with the name of the mod.
Note: You can use your installer to Open the Mods Folder
🔹 Move the mod file(s) into the newly created folder.
➡️ Run the game.

🔹 How it works:

HKMP puts a copy of each player into each other players world. Enemies have separate health and can be in different places; items/abilities must be collected separately; breakable objects must be broken separately.
A player's attack will happen in each player's world, damaging any enemies/players it comes in contact with. A player is only hurt by the enemies in their own world.

How to use Scarab in Microsoft Store
🔹 First enter the Xbox app and move your mouse over Hollow Knight on the left bar.
🔹 Click the three points then click "Manage".
🔹 Go to the "Files" tab and select "Browse...".
🔹 Click Hollow Knight then Content, click the path bar and copy it.
🔸Run Scarab as admin and when it asks you for the path paste what copied before.

Alternate Method:
🔹 Click on your profile then "Settings"
🔹 Go to "General" tab and select "CHANGE FOLDER"
🔹 Look for a folder where you want to install the game (Preferably inside a folder in your desktop).
🔸 Copy the path bar, then run Scarab as Administrator and when it asks you for the path, paste what copied before.

Scarab path folder needs to have Hollow Knight_Data folder inside

After installing, in order to actually use the mod
When the mod is correctly installed, you should see it at the top-left of your main menu, with the other mods you have installed.

If there is also some larger text that says "Load Enemy Randomizer", then press that button to randomize the enemies using the default settings (Note: you will need to wait a few minutes while this loads). If the button is not there, then go into Options > Mods, and Disable the mod, and then re-enable it. You will also need to close the game entirely, and re-open it.
