i will say realistically if you intend to play the rest of the game yourself its 100% a good idea to beat them yourself. mantis lords are one of the most core early game bosses for learning combat imo

Well, quick slash is an extremely good charm, and so is steady body when you get used to not being knocked back. Sharp shadow is good, but the extra dash range can throw you off a bit.

Shaman stone is also good for extra spell damage
