Ok so the radiance was this overruler dude who all the bugs worshiped until the pale wyrm reincarnated into a fork and promised the bugs freedom and that made the big guy mad and he went into the bugs dreams and created like a plague thing so the fork or the pale king made vessels with no mind or feelings to contain the radiance but that wasn't enough so he had his child who was supposed to be pure as a vessel to completely contain the radiance being sealed of by 3 dreamers herrah Lurien and monomon but before herrah was a dreamer she wanted a child in exchange for her sleeping eternaly so that's how hornet was born but deep down the hollow knight still had feelings and the radiance was able to use that to take over and leak out of the hollow knight and as you were defeating the dreamers the infection leaked out of the black egg and infected the crossroads and then you figure out how you were made from the abyss and then u go to fight the hollowknight and hornet opens up its dreams and u go in with the dream nail and destroy the radiance
