People need to stop saying these games (Hollow Knight and Silksong) are like Dark Souls. The only similarity is difficulty, but I would argue HK/SS are much harder than any Fromsoftware game.

Dark Souls has build varieties, leveling, and multiple ways to beat each boss. It has more lateral progression. HK/SS lack those, since they are Metroidvania's and a different style of progressing. A lot of people I've noticed have come into these games thinking it's a similar experience to Soulslike games and it absolutely is not.
