This is completely consistent with what we see in game, even before leaving The Abyss The Hollow Knight is seen looking at The Knight and presumably pondering helping it. 2) There is no indication that this "idea instilled" is the king growing fond with the vessel, considering that this idea is supposedly what tarnished the vessel, and it was instilled within it, its actually likely that she is talking about The Radiance herself.
