That’s the price you pay for being in the public eye. They have a level of responsibility to their audience as every creator does. We understand this when one creator sends their fans to brigade another, they cannot feign ignorance then. The same principle applies here. Alright, so since it's mostly over here, I'm gonna share my final thoughts. I think his actions were irresponsible, because saying something big is coming is tying something to an announcement, and since the community thought this was a devs account, it was reasonable for them to assume this was silksong. I am disappointed if this is a dev, and if it wasn't, then my opinion will shift a complete 180. It's also a little bit angering to see that Leth reached out through Fire, but that's fine in the grand scheme of things.

no its purely the fans irresponsibility. the account has a clear context and tone, and to disassociate that from the content posted is a failure to interpret it appropriately by the fans (aka the communities fault, nothing related to the devs ). it is unreasonable to alienate the accounts established nature and tone and assume that every post, or even any post carries the weight of official posts simply because the account belongs to a public figure. the responsibility is in the fans to engage with the content in its context rather than projecting their own expectations onto it. developers are entitled to use their personal/informal accounts for non serious posts without being held accountable for fan speculation that disregards the accounts purpose
