Ori and the blind forest is my Hollow Knight replacement. It’s not better, but it’s near as good and just as pretty or possibly more so. It’s a bit more of a platformer challenge in terms of constantly trying to kill you with environmental based hazards but the save system is really nice. Save just about almost anywhere. It’s slightly limited but it hardly matters. (Hope that I don’t regret saying that.)

i'm half joking, but in HK you can very easily run circles around common enemies and avoid all their attacks. But with parrying you have to actually let them attack you and then react at the very last moment.

I'd recommend trying the demo and getting to the boss at least. I wasn't impressed by the trailer, but I'm somewhat interested in the game now.
What they really need is to come up with an original story and world.
One of HK's biggest strengths was that Hallownest is just such an interesting setting to explore and learn about. Every place you visit feels memorable and like it has a reason to exist
Many other metroidvanias don't really capture that imo

Only like 10 minutes of it, but its movement is nearly identical to hollow knight. And its animations are very similar.
