Well I'd expect parrying to be something like in sekiro, its the game I've played a ton and used parries (is that the right plural? Idek) a lot in but I enjoy and think HK parrying is a very important mechanic and its a pretty well done in the game.

HK parry mechanics are different than most games because most of the time you aren't really intended to consistently parry attacks

since its actually way harder to parry shit in HK than in most other games where its actually intended to be consistently used

Ok I dont really think its hard to parry in HK, on one of my playthroughs, I just spent hours trying to parry attacks from bosses in hall of gods, coz its just very satisfying. It's quite rhythmic and I wouldn't really say thats hard but it does take a lot of practice to parry consistently but I think its quite consistent once you have timings and distance nailed down.

Yes coz movement in this game is very fluid and there's a lot of options to get invincibility frames which also allow you to get damage at the same time but what if you had no choice but to parry? Getting stuck in a corner would be a stupid mistake but such things can still happen and parries would really help in that case.
