I think tank works for a lot of builds that involve brute forcing fights but if you enjoy a more reactive playstyle I would recommend reverse joints even if low health and weight limits are a bit of a constraint

ig they're probably technically worse I just find them to be a lot of fun

and for the most part the game doesn't require hard optimization so imo the best way to play is just with whatever is fun
