Metroidvania is less annoying when used to describe games imo, because when I'm told a game is a metroidvania, I think about concepts such as non-linear exploration, progressively getting updates, etc. These concepts come to mind before the games Metroid and Castlevania do. On the other hand, if a game is described to me as "The Breath of The Wild of..." I immediately think about the game BOTW.
