Though I would recommend playing Lobotomy Corporation first, since that's the general consensus.

Though for me personally I like the added mystery of Ruina if you don't know what happened in LobCorp. It makes things a lot more engrossing and intriguing for me and then LobCorp can act as a prequel of sorts for me when I play it.

Ruina probably has the best world building I've seen in a game or anything really.
It's so good even early on. Everything is interesting and there's a lot of symbolism baked into the menus, names, lore, etc.
