I think everybody got sidelined on Silksong quests because of their name and the way that quests are executed in the vast majority of games.
I will restate, and I will keep restating until it releases and I'm proven right:
The Silksong quests will NOT be the kind of quests you see in all games with markers and simple follow directions until completed and be in your way.
You know how in Hollow Knight certain NPC's react to stuff you find or do in the world? Quests will be just that, except a little formalized and with some rewards.
There won't be "kill 10 boars". Instead there will be "Kill the enemies in this location" or "kill this boss". The quest boards we saw in the trailer, they only had a very general overview of the quest, and the name of the quest giver. And it will be nothing more.
In essence, "Quests" will just be a way of tracking stuff you do for NPCs in the world. And they will just be a part of the world itself. Nothing self contained, you'll be able to stumble upon and do them without ever "accepting" them from the boards.

But here's another idea. In EDGE it was stated that the quest boards are the way of tracking requests. Which might mean, that the entries on the quest boards don't even appear unless you talked to the quest giver already, meaning you won't even know they exist.

You see, Hollow Knight playthroughs are worse for me now. Before, I found a boss again, and I had fought it just 2 or 3 times, so it was exciting enough to fight it again. Now if I replayed again, I have fought every single boss 30 times already. In the Pantheon, radiant, ascended, etc. I may have replayed the game just 3 or 4 times, but I refought every boss 30 times each.
