this is more of an issue with RPG sidequests especially with how many they are

nothing annoys me more than the end of the quest giver going (before the activation of the next quest):
"We need to stop this undead invasion NOW. You, player, I need you to meet up with me near this area so we can proceed with the plan. I'll be waiting"

then the game gives like 20 different newly available "SIDEQUESTS AVAILABLE" icons on the map while the aforementioned NPC just stands still and can wait for you for close to an eternity while you do random tasks
