obligatory hunger is annoying in a lot of games but my favorite iteration is Stalker Anomaly with how it dealt hunger

a lot of games makes it so hunger is something you have to manage every 5 minutes that it gets super annoying

In Stalker Anomaly, you had to eat 1500-2000 calories a day, but if you let it pass by, instead of automatically dying like in most games instead you go into starvation mode, which will just weaken you a bit

the longer you dont eat the more severe the starvation mode becomes, BUT it wont kill you until the very last stage (which takes around 3-4 in game days of no food before it kills you)

BUT the higher your starvation stage is, the more food you have to eat exponentially to get out

so in Stage 1, you need to eat 2000 calories to get out of the mode, in Stage youd need to eat 3000-3500, etc
