for his first phase I find the safest time to hit to be when he sort of winds up on his right side for a 180 swipe across the floor

also by 1. do you mean the shards? I find the timing for that to be consistent enough, personally can't recall two separate variations and delay timings

Other issues the game has that seen rather unfortunate:
-Big enemies are unreadable. Moving in close to hit one covers the camera while you slap their ankles.

-Bosses have cooler more complex attacks, and these are harder and more fun to dodge BUT they all one shot you, stagger you into another set of hits, or stagger you into a grab, etc etc

-Boss recycling. This is excusable on the basis it’s open world, but apparently people are sick of fighting 10 copies of the dragon, erdtree avatar, or the one other thing I can’t remember.

1. they do not have absurd health individually
2. you can use the pillars to create space
3. they do not attack every .5 seconds
4. smough is slow as fuck so usually if you get enough space, its ornstein that can close the gap while smough does a slow af attack you can easily ignore
5. they do not have a huge ass healthpool, i remember being able to kill ornstein with 15-25 straight sword slashes
6. they dont fucking one shot you or do so much damage that you need to chug an estus everytime they hit you

I think it is easier to understand if you come back later with the Wraiths, rather than the Dnail because nothing tells you that there's a hint if you Dnail the pedestal but you could probably take note of how the area looks like, so after picking up Wraiths you're just like "Oh that spell is similar to that place"

So there's been a thing I read that there's an unusual amount of wedding stuff in silksong. Specifically around lace. Her hat looks like that of a Tsunokakushi, a type of traditional wedding headdress Japanese brides wear.
Also her whole stage has white flowers and even her name, lace, is usually associated with wedding gowns.
