I mean there is a ton of different routes to beat the game, including skips and stuff. I do think some were intended to be done since there's not any "gates"of progression except required abilities. For example you can Lure an aspid in Kingdom's edge and pogo on to fight Hornet 2 without wings, and it's even doable without beating hornet 1 which is cool. (Sorry for the long text)

er is a perfectly balanced game (no joke here) if you play on intended level and don't attempt bosses over/underpowered, just watched a russian dude beat ||margit|| (early boss name) on lvl 30, wasn't very fun
