I have proof that, yes is not 100% mean SS releases in Feb but is strong proof non the less. Christopher larkin posted an entirely new sound track of a completely new game called TOHU. This means that SS sound track or most of it is complete and may spell that SS is getting finished. And yeah I think one of the things that really stands out about HK compared to other games is just how natural it feels. Things connect where it would be natural, there’s no hard transitions between areas except the ones that are actually artificially created, and not everywhere really serves much of a purpose for gameplay.

I posted about a while ago but I had the idea that deep docks could be next to like a huge lava lake and there would be a ship that takes you across, except maybe some of the passengers are with the cult and you get ambushed. After that you have to fight until you get to the other side of the lake. It could be a fun way to have a major fight that isn’t a boss battle.

i recently saw a thread from an outer worlds dev about a very mysterious bug that kept cropping up in QA, where companion npcs would register as dead and render a bunch of quests automatically failed, even though companions shouldn'y be able to die. but they had no idea what was causing it and the QA team was unable to reliably replicate it, so they just hoped it was a rare bug that wouldn't show up in testing

spoiler alert it cropped up a whole bunch after wide release and it was the craziest thing to finally track down what weird interaction in the code was triggering it

anyways i think of that whole odyssey whenever wondering what team cherry is up to and how development's going in silksong

basically the npcs were climbing invisible ladders in the one location in the game where they could take fall damage (because there shouldn't have been any way for them to gain height), which had a weird interaction with how object interaction procedures are coded into the game, and how starting/stopping dialogue causes object interaction procedures to immediately stop. now you can imagine why this would be bad if an npc had climbed a ladder 50 feet in the air and was then suddenly told to cease object interaction

it basically has to do with how the AI plots its path through the world, and because of how dense the polygon meshes tend to be in interactable areas with lots of Stuff (like caves or camps full of treasure) vs open wilderness, the fox program's pathfinding will just naturally go toward whatever area has the densest map

Yeah I personally don’t really see any good way of making boss rush a major story point that wouldn’t just feel like a rehash of the Godhome plot. Personally I’ve always advocated for it to just be an in-universe dream, and not the magical kind.
