to be honest, it really makes sense why the game is taking this long
think of all the little extra content we know about:
A bunch of active tools, upgrades for some of those tools, getting tools from enemies,
Just the fleas; we know the fleas will be in different situations and not just laying on the ground, so they have to implement a unique situations for many, if not all, of the fleas,
Potentially being able to swap Silk Skills; so implementing all the new skills,
Crest abilities which change attacks and healing, so implementing all of the changes,
Collectible items of various types,
all the NPCs with various different functions,
backer dungeons,
bigger map, bigger rooms,
etc.

Now think that all of these have to be placed somewhere in the world and tied in with the game progression, programmed, bugfixed, balanced for edge cases
