I think it'll be like: "he starts speaking to you automatically the first time you pass by, you choose between turning back or him fighting you to prevent your passage (for some lore reason... think lady maria of the astral clocktower). You can choose in text to fight him, which will start the battle honorably, turn back and not fight yet, or keep walking forward until Seth teleports in, throws his shield at you, and the fight just starts

Overall Unity seems to be a pretty good tool to make and test AIs (I doesn't like to use this term, but whatever). Although I doubt it's a priority for this kind of project, imo, in terms of game design it's not a bad thing for this genre to have many simple ennemy patterns that you can read easily. Otherwise it could be frustrating for many aspects including speedrunning. But I don't mind if ennemies gets a bit more complex because HK one's were probably too simple most of the time.

I honestly have the feeling that Silksong will be a much more hopeful game than Hollow Knight. HK never really had a truly good ending, and its setting reflects that. Hallownest can't be saved because it's already dead. Silksong, on the other hand, is more of a living game, with more npcs, even in the deepest corners of the world, and a kingdom that is still very much alive. Even the color scheme seems more hopeful; the greens and blues are brighter, the greys seem less impressive, there's a lot more yellow.

We know that by at least the summer, the devs have been working in a “scope creep” state where they add and add stuff into the game with the ability to go into the bugfixing and cleanup stage when they’re satisfied. Matthew Griffin said they’re still adding at the start of the summer during a QnA. Soon it will be six months since then.

We do know that when something is being prepared for the public, there’s a few signs that leak through, such as the comment on the Kickstarter, the quick discord meeting, and the Twitter teasing that all happened right before Edge came out.

Since there’s none of that right now, I wouldn’t expect anything for the next month at least. There are talks about the leak for February 1st. Now this is my personal opinion, but I don’t think the 1st was meant to be an exact day, but February might be important. It’s the anniversary month of Hollow Knight (I might be wrong, I forgot 💀), and it’s also the month Silksong was announced.

However, unless they finished their scope creep state before the date was entered into where leak came from, there’s no reason for us to assume they plan to release at February aside from what I mentioned above.
