is it just me or have like. the biggest indie games of the last few years dealt very very specifically with the idea of end of the world, and coping with it/finding connections in the middle of it. like off the top of my head, there's disco elysium, night in the woods, hollow knight, outer wilds. they're not really all apocalypse or post apocalypse stories, but like thematically and emotionally they all circle back to the feeling of the world ending right
