If you don't kill every enemy fast enough for the last wave (if the enemies are doubled), then you're just fucked. That lava's not waiting.

It activates the second one of the two sets of enemies are dead

The mist ceases to exist once phantom is dead so you have 1 parkour room where the mist was (which is just 2 jumps over spikes)

How come, narratively or mechaincally? I intuit the main entrance to the Whispering Vaults is through a doorway barred by junk similar to the Grand Gate's upper floor. I would expect a loud-ass vacuum tube to be too much for the Whispering Vaults. Mechanically, the biome itself doesn't need a Ventrica station when two stations lead to the top & bottom of the biome. The Underworks are a ways a way without a Ventrica station.
